Today we said a sad farewell to Ady.

We were there for your final journey, honoured you chose the hearse to start its journey from the Falcon Centre, with flowers a plenty, a photo of Spike, dressed in your Chefs outfit - a fitting tribute to your dedication as a volunteer with us and your flat cap on the coffin. We hope we did you proud, because you did us proud in all you achieved.
Falcon's message to Ady:
"You may have left this earth but you will always be part of the Falcon family."
Your life had been tipped completely upside down, and you had nowhere to go. Over the years, with support, patience and your own incredible strength, you began to turn things around. You learned that you didn’t need some of the things you once relied on just to get through each day, and slowly, you found your way back to a better place.
You volunteered in the kitchen at the Falcon Centre every week, and you had a wonderful way of making everyone’s day with your quick wit, infectious smile and happiness.
When the George Smith Hub opened, you were asked if you would like to volunteer there a few days a week. Well… a few days quickly became every day! You absolutely loved it. And, of course, you loved feeding everyone and making sure nobody went without. You were so generous in that way.
Eventually, you moved on into your own property, but that never meant you stopped being part of your Falcon family. You always made time for us, and we will always be grateful for that.
You were an absolute pleasure to know and to support. You had a heart that cared deeply about other people, often putting everyone else before yourself. You gave so much to the people around you — your time, your laughter, your kindness, your stories, and that infectious smile. You left a little piece of yourself with so many people, and you will be remembered with so much love."
Ady's message to Falcon:
“To everyone at Falcon Support Services,
There aren't enough words to thank you for everything you did for me.
When I first came through your doors, I was at one of the lowest points in my life. Homelessness and addiction had taken so much from me, and I wasn't sure what my future looked like. You saw something in me that I couldn't always see in myself. You gave me hope, dignity, encouragement, and the chance to rebuild my life.
You didn't just help me survive—you helped me live again.
Volunteering with Falcon became one of the greatest privileges of my life. Being able to give something back to an organisation that had given me so much was an honour."
You will be missed and forever remembered.
