Awards Evening for our Poppy Appeal Volunteers

Earlier this month we arranged our annual Awards Evening for our poppy appeal volunteers for Longridge and surrounding areas to recognise and thank the dedicated volunteers who give their time and support to the annual Poppy Appeal.

The evening was well attended, with volunteers coming together to celebrate the success of the appeal and the important contribution they make to the local community. The event was supported by the Mayor of Longridge, Cllr. Robert Walker who took time to meet the volunteers.

There were awards and flowers for Susan for 30 years’ service and husband and wife team from Chipping who couldn't attend the evening but both received a certificate for 5 years’ service recognising their commitment, hard work and dedication in supporting the Poppy Appeal.

The evening provided a wonderful opportunity to bring volunteers together, from one of our youngest volunteers Toby to one of our oldest who wants to remain anonymous!
Acknowledging their achievements and thanking everyone who continues to help make the Longridge & surrounding area’s Poppy Appeal such a success.

If you are interested in volunteering a small amount of your time please contact us on: [email protected]

Big Band Swing Evening Celebrating the 1940s – A Great Success!

The Longridge Branch of the Royal British Legion was delighted with the success of its recent Big Band Swing Evening, celebrating the 1940s.

The event brought a wonderful touch of wartime nostalgia, with an evening of big band music, dancing and entertainment inspired by the sounds and spirit of the 1940s. It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to get dressed up, come together, enjoy themselves and support a very worthwhile cause.

The evening successfully raised funds for the Longridge Branch of the Royal British Legion, helping to support its ongoing work for the Armed Forces community, veterans and their families.

A huge thank you goes to everyone who attended, bought tickets and supported the event, as well as all those who helped organise the evening and make it such a success.

It was wonderful to see the community come together for a memorable evening of music, fun and fundraising. We look forward to welcoming everyone to future events organised by the Longridge Branch!
