We are holding a memorial for Najlaa this weekend and wanted to share her Fund page. Our colleague and friend Najlaa Ahmed, Legal Adviser at Rights for Peace, passed away on Monday, 3 November 2025. She was a unique human rights lawyer. She dedicated her career to advancing protection for victims of serious human rights violations in Sudan and to pursuing accountability as well as preventing crimes based on discrimination. Use the link to read her story and be part of her legacy.

This campaign will support survivors of conflict-related sexual violence in Sudan, in honour of Najlaa Ahmed's human rights work.

📢 The ICC's jurisdiction must extend beyond Darfur. Our Communication to the ICC Prosecutor argues that the violence in the rest of Sudan is part of the same pattern of conduct of Darfur. ⚖️ A Landmark for Justice in Darfur

On October 6, 2025, the ICC convicted Ali Kushayb of 27 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity, including murder, r**e, torture and persecution, marking the first ever ICC conviction for crimes in Darfur.

This historic judgment affirms what victims have long stated: Kushayb was not a rogue actor, but part of a coordinated plan between militia and Sudanese state officials.
