And the winner of the CASIEF-Lifebox Resident Challenge is… University of British Columbia Anesthesiology!

Congratulations to this incredible team for their dedication, creativity, and commitment to making anesthesia safer for patients everywhere.

But this moment is bigger than one team.

Residents came together to raise over $10,600, supporting the tools and training that help providers keep patients safe in the operating room.

Because of this effort, more patients will be monitored, more providers will be supported, and more surgeries will be safer.

Over the past few months, Canadian Anesthesia Residency programs have been working hard to raise funds to close the global capnography gap, making anesthesia safer for patients around the world.

On this International Nurses Day, we celebrate every nurse working in and around the operating theatre. The ones who trained for years to be there. The ones who are still learning. The ones who go home exhausted and come back tomorrow.

Happy Mother's Day.

Today we celebrate every mother, and we think about the mothers who deserve safe, quality surgical care, no matter where in the world they are.

At Lifebox, our mission is simple: make surgery and anaesthesia safer for every patient, every time. That means the mother in a low-resource hospital who needs an emergency caesarean. The woman undergoing surgery far from home. The patient in a theatre where a pulse oximeter or a safety checklist can mean the difference between life and death.

We also want to celebrate the mothers in scrubs, the surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses, and theatre teams, many of them mothers themselves, who show up every day to keep other mothers safe. Your skill and dedication are at the heart of what we do.
