ARPAS-UK is the Association of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems. It is a trade association and professional body which supports and acts on behalf of the remotely piloted aircraft (RPAS) community, from start-up businesses to larger established operations. ARPAS-UK members continue to break new ground in markets where

RPAS (sometimes referred to as UAVs or drones) are delivering significant benefits. Members’ main markets include:

• TV & Movie
• Structures Inspection
• Linear Infrastructures (power lines, rail)
• Survey & Mapping
• Agriculture
• Emergency Services

On behalf of its members, ARPAS-UK works closely with the industry regulator CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and Government departments to influence and ensure that the regulatory framework for the safe and professional operation of remotely piloted aircraft is fit for purpose and encourages best practice. It works in the public interest, and advocates professionalism within its membership through compliance with an agreed Code of Conduct and the holding of appropriate permissions. The Association takes progressive stances on national issues to embed the RPAS profession in all end-user industries, to enable it to continue to grow in reputation and influence.

In our latest ARPAS-UK Fireside Chat, Anne-Lise Scaillierez speaks with Melvin Sieben, Co-Founder & CEO of MEJOR Technologies, about CHRIS: the Climate Hazard Real-time Imaging System.

Developed with firefighters, CHRIS transforms live drone imagery into georeferenced 2D maps, helping emergency teams track wildfire boundaries, hotspots, people, vehicles, access routes and the direction of fire spread.

Its “zero-button” approach means operators can fly as normal while CHRIS creates and updates the operational picture in the background - reducing manual work, saving time and supporting faster, more confident decision-making.

The platform can also integrate with existing command, incident-management and GIS systems, and continue mapping in areas with limited connectivity.

By joining the UK Pavilion at SADEX 2026, companies will be part of a coordinated UK industry presence led by the Department for Transport (DfT), United Kingdom and supported by ARPAS-UK.

The delegation is designed to provide a stronger route into the Saudi market than attending independently, with shared pavilion presence, co-branding, VIP access, potential speaking opportunities, high-level roundtable meetings, media exposure and structured stakeholder engagement.

We are also working with the British-Embassy to support the delegation, including a proposed embassy reception with access to VIP stakeholders, senior officials and the Embassy’s in-country network.

For UK companies serious about Saudi Arabia, this is a cost-effective way to build relationships, understand procurement routes, identify local partners and position for future opportunities.

👉 Organisations interested in taking part are encouraged to register their interest before CoB on Friday. Link in the Comments section below... 👇
