💛 LGBT Mummies NEW PARTNER Born Donor Bank 💛

We are so delighted to announce a new LGBT Mummies partner, Born Donor Bank who will be working with us the next year to support and provide guidance & services to our global community!

We’re Born – a s***m bank that exists to make your journey as a donor parent as comfortable and rewarding as possible. Founded in Copenhagen in 2017, and now part of the Medicover group of companies, we’ve always taken a truly personal approach to what we do.

We take our time to get to know the people who come through our door.

Because the more we know about you, the better we can help you find the right donor. And the closer our bond, the better we can provide the support and guidance you deserve.

Born are an ethical and compassionate bank with family limits and who take their role in family creation seriously.

RESEARCH:GET INVOLVED!

Have you had therapy or counselling during early parenthood?
A mental health charity is looking for parents to share their experiences as part of a national campaign launching soon.
The campaign aims to reduce the stigma around accessing professional mental health support and encourage more parents across the UK to get the support they need. They’re keen to hear from people from all kinds of family structures, identities and backgrounds, so the campaign reflects a wide range of lived experiences including from the LGBTQIA+ community.

If you’d be interested in sharing your story, we’d love to hear from you.

There’s no obligation to take part, and all stories will be treated with sensitivity.

🏳️‍🌈More from the recent 10 Downing Street Pride Reception 🏳️‍🌈

Activism never sleeps.

It is exhausting. Emotional. Passionate. It requires persistence. Tenacity.

It takes from your soul the very experiences you have had and turns that harm and journey into tenacity- a need for systemic change to make a fairer society for all.

Recently, I was invited back to 10 Downing Street to the Government Pride Reception to meet with the Prime Minister, and many other MP’s like the brilliant Kate Osborne MP and Olivia Bailey to not just celebrate Pride, but discuss how far we have come, how far we still need to go, and how currently society is dialing back on the rights of LGBTQIA+ people and their families.

Some may say, why go?
When the very system you are standing within, is the very system perpetuating harm.

But to create systemic change, you need to meet them where they are. Show them, tell them the impact that inequality and discrimination is having right now on our community.

We cannot be outside, banging the doors down, demanding equity and equality.

We need to be on the inside, have a seat at the tables where decisions are made, policies are created, and be involved from inception to demand the change we so rightly deserve.

We need to be Co-creators of that change.

And so those conversations and relationships we build, are the very ones that will ultimately help shape the future for the community.

I will never stop fighting for the rights of my community, and other marginalised communities- until true equity and equality is achieved, I will knock on doors, invite myself into conversations and ensure I and others who do desperately need it have a seat at the table.

Because change only happens when you demand it. When you shape it. And when you pull that seat out and address what’s needed.

I will not stay silent, complicit, and I will strategically fight for change until we are equal. 🏳️‍🌈

💜EXPERT CENTRE: How do we ensure the right embryo goes back into the right patient?💜

At we take expert advice seriously that’s why we only partner with the most inclusive, compassionate and safe LGBTQIA+ friendly organizations like

One of the questions we hear most often, and quite rightly, is: “How do you make sure embryos can’t get mixed up?”

When you’re trusting a clinic with something so precious, it’s completely natural to want to understand exactly what safeguards are in place.

At The Evewell, every embryo, egg and s***m sample is linked to a unique patient identifier and tracked throughout treatment. Multiple witnessing steps take place during key stages, including egg collection and freezing, embryo monitoring, biopsy, testing and freezing, with barcode technology (known as “zapping”!) and double embryologist verification helping to ensure complete traceability at every point (trust us, there are very loud alarms that go off IF ever a barcode is incorrectly zapped!)

In this behind the scenes clip, our embryology team explains how witnessing works in the lab and why these checks are such an important part of the IVF process.

Before you start any treatment at a clinic, make sure you ask them what their witnessing process is and how they ensure the right embryo goes back into the right patient.

📣THEY SAID WHAT!?! 📣
”THEY’LL BE GAY LIKE YOU”
As parents we often face questions or statements from others that are asked often or can also take you by surprise.
⬆️This comment we have heard said to so many LGBTQIA+ parents: whether it’s in conversation, or relating to the way a child presents, how they play and with what toys, or just the simple fact that you’re LGBTQIA+.
💡Things to consider💡
♥️Heterosexual people also have LGBTQIA+ children
💜Just because we are LGBTQ+ as parents, doesn’t mean they will be
💗Being LGBTQIA+ isn’t hereditary
🤎You can’t ‘catch’ being LGBTQIA+
💙No-one would actively choose the life of a marginalised minority group & be potentially discriminated against just for fun
💛We don’t ‘push’ being LGBTQIA+ on our own children
🖤Just because they may play with toys that are apparently for the opposite gender, doesn’t mean they will be LGBTQIA+ just means they like them!
💚If they are LGBTQIA+, we will support them and celebrate them!
✋Consider your language and words✋
🎺POSITIVE THINGS TO SAY INSTEAD🎺
✅ “If they are LGBTQIA+, I bet they’ll get the best support from you!”
Have you had this said to you?

✨FAMILY FILES✨

“My wife asked me to carry our baby. For years I said no.

My wife carried our first son and I was exactly where I was supposed to be. Taking care of her. Being the rock.”

The decision to carry a pregnancy isn’t just about wanting a baby, it’s about identity, body image, dysphoria, grief, fear and finding a path that feels authentic.

This powerful story from Meg and Erika reminds us that every family-building journey is different. There isn’t one “right” way to become a parent, and there shouldn’t be expectations placed on who carries a pregnancy based on gender expression or identity. 🏳️‍🌈

When people are given the time, support and space to make decisions on their own terms, they can discover possibilities they never thought were for them.

To everyone navigating fertility, pregnancy, dysphoria, loss or the many emotions that can come with building a family: your feelings are valid, your journey is yours, and you deserve compassionate, inclusive care every step of the way. ❤️

EXPERT CENTRE: California Cryobank S***m Bank

California opened in 1977, and from the very beginning, we worked with LGBTQ+ individuals and couples at a time when many s***m banks wouldn’t. Almost 50 years later, we’re still here — and we’re still proud to be a part of how q***r families are built. Swipe through the moments that shaped us:

→ 1977: California Cryobank opens its doors

→ 1980s–90s: Among the first to actively serve same-sex couples and single moms by choice

→ 2000s: Expanded donor portfolio and partnered with the Donor Sibling Registry

→ 2010s: All donors required to be ID disclosure donors since 2018

→ Today: 600+ donors, decades of sibling connections, and tens of thousands of families built, together

If you’ve been thinking about finding a donor to help grow your family, we’d love to be your partner in that.
