Three days of Halloween fun at Llangoed Village Hall! 🎃 Something for everyone next week, with three events to get the whole village involved!

🎨 Wednesday 28 October | 12–3pm
Halloween Family Fun Day
Free crafts, face painting, fancy dress and a best carved pumpkin competition. All ages welcome!

🧠 Friday 30 October | From 7pm
Halloween Quiz Night
Gather your team of up to six, test your knowledge and compete for cash prizes. £2 per person, quiz starts at 8pm. Prize for the best costume too!

🦇 Saturday 31 October | From 6pm
Our big Halloween Party!
Music, games, fancy dress for children and adults. Bring your carved pumpkins! Hot dogs and drinks available.

How can we make Llangoed and the Seiriol Ward a more dementia-friendly community? Small changes can make a real difference in helping people living with dementia feel understood, supported and included in everyday community life.

Everyone is welcome to a public meeting at Llangoed Village Hall to discuss creating a Dementia Friendly Community, raising awareness and exploring how local people, businesses and organisations can get involved.

Haunting, hypnotic, unsettling and utterly absorbing. 🚢 A sold-out screening of Rose of Nevada, accompanied by a live score from the Cornish Sound Unit — an incredible experience of film and sound unfolding together. What a night at Sinema Llangoed! 🎬

It was fascinating to see the musicians at work, surrounded by tape machines, guitars, beatboxes and a remarkable collection of tools and toys, creating the film’s haunting soundscape live in front of us.

And what a treat to have Mark Jenkin and Dion Star join us for a Q&A afterwards, sharing insights into the film and the process behind its extraordinary soundtrack.

Huge thanks to Mark Jenkin, Dion Star, Johnathon Parkins from the BFI, Gwyn and Mandy at MAD Sound and Lighting, and the entire team of volunteers at Llangoed Village Hall for making this ambitious event come to life here on Ynys Môn!

Roedd yn hynod ddiddorol gweld y cerddorion wrth eu gwaith, wedi’u hamgylchynu gan beiriannau tâp, gitarau, peiriannau rhythm ac amrywiaeth ryfeddol o offer a theganau, yn creu seinwedd arswydus y ffilm yn fyw o’n blaenau.

Ac roedd yn bleser arbennig cael Mark Jenkin a Dion Star gyda ni am sesiwn holi ac ateb ar ôl y ffilm, gan rannu cipolwg ar y ffilm a’r broses o greu ei thrac sain rhyfeddol.

What a wonderful mix of local talent at Llangoed Harvest Festival! (Grateful that the harvest celebrations were last weekend, as I post this in the middle of a yet unnamed storm)

Honey, crochet, creative sewing, diamond art, locally grown vegetables, flowers, succulents, homemade preserves and mosaics — our stalls were full of things grown, made and created by people in our local area.

It’s always a pleasure to see such a diversity of skills and creativity gathered in one place, and to have the chance to meet the people behind it all.

A huge thank you to all our stallholders for being part of the weekend, and to everyone who came along to browse, chat and support them!

What a wonderful afternoon with Calamity Jane at Sinema Llangoed! 🎬 Our second in a series of daytime screenings, bringing people together for a relaxed afternoon of cinema, conversation and a much-loved musical starring Doris Day.

It was lovely to welcome everyone to the Hall, and we’re looking forward to more afternoons like this!

A big thank you to Dementia Actif Môn and Isle of Anglesey County Council for their collaboration and support in making these relaxed, dementia-friendly screenings possible!

Sharp tools, happy gardeners! 🪓🪚 A huge thank you to our sharpening masters, James and Hari, who spent the weekend bringing all sorts of tools back to life at Llangoed Harvest Festival.

Knives and secateurs, loppers and garden shears, chainsaws and carving knives — even a sickle!
There must be a lot of sharper, more efficient gardening happening around Llangoed this week!

A brilliant way to keep our tools in use for longer, rather than replacing them. Thanks to everyone who brought something along, and especially to James and Hari for sharing their skills and knowledge so generously.
