Llandrindod Wells BIB's baby and toddler Breastfeeding support group

Llandrindod Wells BIB's baby and toddler Breastfeeding support group Bron I'r Baben (Breast to Baby or BIB's) is a support group for breastfeeding women run by breastfeeding women. All children under school age welcome.

We're a group of diverse women who are passionate about sharing the amazing benefits of breastfeeding by supporting families through their breastfeeding journeys. The group leaders are Powys trained Peer Support counsellors with many years of breastfeeding experience between them. As well as online support, there is a weekly get-together (10am-12pm at the Multi-Purpose Room at Ysgol Trefonnen llan

drindod wells) where mums can meet with other mums and have a chat. Regular Peer Support training is available for those who are interested in gaining the knowledge and confidence to counsel others in the art of breastfeeding. For more information message us. A Peer Supporter can offer support and advice gained from training and experience, but this does not compare with a fully trained health professional. Any serious problems or concerns and we advise you to contact your midwife, health visitor or GP. BIB's is run in partnership with Play Radnor, the Local Health Board and Flying Start.

Please come and join us this Thursday 18th June 10am-12 at the Community room Festival Church Llandrindod formally known as the New Life Church next to Jigsaw Nursery. This is a change of venue for the foreseeable, whilst work is being carried out at our usual venue. 🤱

Our sessions run weekly - during term times. You don't have to be experiencing a feeding issue to attend, and everyone is welcome from newborns to toddlers.

Trained ABM Breastfeeding Peer Supporters will be on hand for any help/advice throughout the session for all mums.

Pregnant and thinking of breastfeeding or worried you don't know enough about it. You are welcome to attend before baby arrives to find out more. Our Trained Peers will be glad to help.

Nervous about attending a new baby group, please feel free to bring along a partner, friend or family member. It's always important to have a support network, everyone is welcome at Bibs. You don't need to be experiencing difficulties to attend all are welcome & its free to attend.

At present due to a lot of Flu/covid/hand foot and mouth, RSV, chickenpox and Norovirus going around please make sure you are 48 hours clear since last bout of sickness before attending, as we have lots of young babies thank you.

We would like to Thank all our Fantastic Volunteer Peer Supporters past and present who have helped local families over the years at Llandrindod Wells BIB's baby and toddler Breastfeeding support group. The support you offer is of the utmost importance, and truly valued in the early weeks of a families feeding journey.

Please come and join us this Thursday 4th June 10am-12 at the Community room Festival Church Llandrindod formally known as the New Life Church next to Jigsaw Nursery. This is a change of venue for the foreseeable, whilst work is being carried out at our usual venue. 🤱

This week is Volunteers week 1st June -7th June. All our Trained Peer Supporters within Llandrindod Wells BIB's baby and toddler Breastfeeding support group are all volunteers, they dedicate time to volunteer, to support our families during weekly face-to-face sessions and also on our messenger service online. You may also see them on your local buggy walk, and at events like fun days and antenatals.

So, this week we would like to celebrate the work that they do, and provide them with a massive Thank you. So please pop along and join us, and celebrate with us. All welcome.

Also, if you have ever wondered what peer supporters actually do, and would like to know more, as you may have been contemplating becoming a volunteer/peer, this week would be the perfect opportunity to pop in and have a chat with us.
