Today we’re celebrating National Creativity Day and the power of creativity to bring people together.

Our Art Club is a wonderful space where people can explore different types of arts and crafts, express themselves creatively, and discover new skills in a supportive environment.

Creativity is not just about making art – it can also have a positive impact on wellbeing, helping people to relax, build confidence, and enjoy meaningful time with others.

Our Art Club also offers a great opportunity to connect with the community, make friendships, and spend time together while enjoying creative activities.

As part of our team's wellbeing we often have the opportunity to spend time together doing creative activities such tin can lanterns, pom-poms and self portraits.

Let’s celebrate creativity and the positive difference it can make.

Led by Clare and Jan , the group’s 11 participants have been adding their lengths together at their fortnightly swimming sessions, working as a team to reach this fantastic milestone.

For the **final mile**, the group came together at **Jubilee Park Swimming Pool in Woodhall Spa** to cross the finish line. Thanks to the pool’s wonderful **‘pay it forward’ scheme**, the group were able to enjoy their swim free of charge.

To celebrate their achievement, everyone enjoyed a lovely **bring and share picnic at the bandstand**, beautifully decorated by Clare with **English and French flags** to mark the occasion. 🇬🇧🇫🇷

In recognition of their hard work and dedication, each participant received a **certificate** to celebrate this amazing achievement.

A huge congratulations to everyone involved – what a fantastic example of teamwork, determination and community spirit!

Celebrating Ian and the Impact of STEPS

Since 2020, Ian Enright has led our highly successful STEPS project, most recently funded through Shine, supporting people to make positive changes in their lives.

Over the past six years, Ian has helped around 250 people move forward by supporting them to access training, volunteering opportunities, and employment.

His support has also gone far beyond this, advocating for people with housing and benefits issues, including PIP applications, and helping those experiencing poor mental health to connect with the support and services they need.

Ian’s care, commitment and passion in his role as Development Worker have made a real difference to so many people.

Now that the project has come to an end, Lynsey and the whole team want to say how incredibly grateful for everything Ian has brought to this role.

Mental Health Awareness Week - Action

What does action for mental health really look like?

It’s not always loud or visible. Often, it’s found in small but powerful moments:

A kind voice at the end of the phone when someone is struggling.
An advisor who listens to understand, not just to respond.
A therapist who helps someone work through what’s happened to them, rather than focusing on what’s ‘wrong’ with them.

These actions matter. They remind people they are seen, heard, and valued.

Let’s keep showing up for each other in ways that are real, human, and meaningful.

As Mental Health Awareness Week comes to a close, the message is simple: don’t stop here.

Action on mental health should never be limited to a single week. It should be part of everyday life—in how we speak, how we listen, and how we care for one another.

Across our communities, people are making a difference every day—treating others as individuals, not statistics, and going the extra mile to provide support when it’s needed most.

Let’s carry that forward. Keep the conversations going. Keep taking action.

Because real change happens when we make mental health a priority every day.

Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 is here and this year’s theme is Action

While awareness matters, real change happens when we take action too.

We’ve come a long way in how we talk about mental health—but we can’t risk going backwards. This week is a reminder that action doesn’t have to be big or complicated. It starts with simple, everyday choices: checking in on someone, really listening, or reaching out when things feel heavy.

Let’s make action part of the conversation—not just this week, but every day.
