🔥🐾 Panther Cubs Fire Lighting Night! 🐾🔥

This week, our Panther Cubs put their outdoor skills into action as they learned how to light fires using flint and steels and the tinder they had carefully prepared a few weeks ago. 🪵✨

It was fantastic to see the Cubs putting previous learning into practice, showing patience, perseverance, and plenty of enthusiasm as they worked towards getting their fires going. 🔥👏

What made the evening even more special was seeing Rik, Amy and Vikki leading the session together. Between them, they represent an incredible legacy of Cub Scouting, having each served as Panther Cubs leaders one after another since 2011. 💛💚

For over 15 years, countless young people have benefited from their dedication, time, and commitment to providing adventure, fun, and skills for life. Seeing them together leading the next generation of Cubs was a wonderful reminder of the strength of Scouting and the impact that volunteers can have on their communities. 🌟

A great evening of fire lighting, outdoor adventure, and celebrating the legacy that helps make Panther Pack what it is today. 🔥🐾

🔥🐿️ Squirrels Fire Lighting Adventure! 🐿️🔥

Our Squirrels had a fantastic evening outdoors learning one of the classic Scouting skills – using flint and steels to light their very own mini fires! 🪵✨

With plenty of determination, patience, and teamwork, they learned how to create sparks and turn them into flames safely. It was brilliant to see their confidence grow as they mastered a new skill. 🌟

To celebrate their success, everyone enjoyed some delicious s’mores and a warm drink around the fire. 🍫🔥☕

It was great to get outside, enjoy the fresh air, and make the most of the lovely weather. We’re incredibly proud of how well they all did! 👏

🔥✈️ A night of challenge and adventure for Holden Scout Troop! ✈️🔥

This week our Scouts enjoyed a split programme packed with fun, teamwork and practical skills.

One group took inspiration from our Squirrels and had a go at some Air Activities, designing and flying paper aeroplanes to see whose creation could fly the furthest and most accurately! ✈️🎯

Meanwhile, the other patrols were set a much bigger challenge… 🔥🌲

Using the skills they’ve learned over time, Scouts were challenged to light and maintain their own fires with minimal leader instruction, working together as patrols to plan, problem-solve and put their Scouting skills into action. 💪🏕️

It was fantastic to see young people demonstrating independence, teamwork and resilience while having plenty of fun along the way.

Well done to everyone who took part! 🌟

✈️🐿️ Up, up and away! 🐿️✈️

Our Squirrels had a fantastic evening working towards their Air Activities Stage 1 Badge! 🌤️

We learned about different types of aircraft 🛩️🚁, discovered how they fly through the skies ☁️, and put our new knowledge into practice by making and flying our own paper aeroplanes ✈️🎯

There were some amazing designs, some impressive flights, and plenty of smiles and laughter along the way! 😄

A brilliant evening of learning, creativity and fun while gaining another badge towards our Scouting adventure. 🌟

After struggling with wet wood and trying to light good fires we went inside to make waterproof matches and firelighters. Watch this space. Next week we will have a roaring fire, smores and bread twists.

✨ Story Time Badge Fun at Squirrels tonight! 📚🐿️

Our Squirrels worked on part of their Story Time Badge by bringing in their favourite books for our leaders and Young Leaders to read aloud 📖💛

Everyone snuggled down together on Ahmeek’s memory blanket with comfy pillows to listen to the stories. The blanket is incredibly special to us, made from Ahmeek’s Scouting memorabilia in memory of a much loved former leader who is sadly no longer with us ❤️

It was a lovely evening full of imagination, laughter, listening and remembering the spirit of Scouting friendships and family 🧡✨
