A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteer Lucy, who brought along her amazing collection of royal masks, helping to bring the Royal Family to life for our Ascot Hobby Horse Races. They certainly sparked lots of smiles, laughter, and conversation.

We were delighted to welcome our local PCSO Nicole, who joined in the fun alongside our Café Coordinators and volunteers. One of the highlights of the morning was their race – although we're still not sure who won! Was it Prince William Whirlwind or Princess Catherine Comet who crossed the finish line first? 🤣🐎

Congratulations to Princess Cathrine for winning the most horse bets of the morning! 🏆

A big thank you to our local Asda for kindly providing some delicious treats for everyone to enjoy. 🍰☕

We finished the session with Love to Move, ending the morning with music, movement, and plenty of smiles.

✨ Tuesday morning was a lovely, relaxed session filled with friendship, creativity, and a little bit of pampering.

Everyone enjoyed catching up with one another while creating beautiful wind chime suncatchers, sharing stories and laughter along the way. There was also time to sit back, relax, and enjoy a soothing hand and arm massage from Lynn and Lucie, our qualified massage therapists, which was very much appreciated by all.

We were also treated to some wonderful live guitar music, which added to the warm and relaxing atmosphere of the morning.

It was wonderful to see everyone feeling relaxed, engaged, and proud of their colourful creations. The room was filled with conversation, smiles, music, and a real sense of togetherness.

Thank you to Lynn and Lucie for helping make the morning so special.

🦋 A Morning of Relaxation, Creativity and Connection 🦋

Join us at Leamington Memory Café on Tuesday 9th June, 10am–12pm at Cubbington Village Hall.

After the wonderful response to her last visit, we're delighted to welcome Lynn from Royal Spa Massage & Foot Clinic back to offer soothing hand massages. A gentle hand massage can help promote relaxation, reduce stress and provide a calming sensory experience, making it a lovely treat for people living with dementia and their loved ones.

We'll also be getting creative by making some beautiful sun catchers to brighten up our homes and gardens. This simple craft is a lovely way to encourage creativity, conversation and reminiscence while creating something special to take home. 🌞✨

As always, there will be plenty of time for friendship, laughter and refreshments. ☕🧡

🧡 Nutrition, Hydration & Plenty of Smiles at our Memory Café 🧡

We had a wonderful Tuesday morning this week with Beth, our new team member and qualified nutritionist, who led a fantastic interactive session on nutrition and hydration.

The morning was filled with calm relaxation music, colourful activities, smiles and meaningful conversations. Moments like these show how learning, creativity and social connection can come together to support wellbeing.

We also had great fun with our "Guess the Flavour of the Jelly Drop" challenge, which sparked plenty of laughter and discussion.

The session clearly left an impression, with one member writing a simple but powerful note:
"You are what you eat."
Many members set themselves a goal of drinking more water, so Beth's hydration message definitely made an impact. 💧

A huge thank you to Beth for such an enjoyable session, and to our wonderful volunteers who support us week in and week out. Your kindness and dedication help make every Memory Café morning so special.

🧡 Join us for a friendly Nutrition Session at Leamington Memory Café 🧡

Come along for a relaxed and welcoming morning where we’ll chat about simple, enjoyable ways nutrition can support wellbeing, memory, mood and everyday health.

Beth, our Café Coordinator and specialised nutritionist, will be sharing practical tips for everyday eating, hydration and easy meal ideas, with time to ask questions and share experiences in a friendly, supportive space.

We’ll also be learning about Jelly Drops 💧 – colourful, fun treats designed to help support hydration in an enjoyable way.

🎉 We’ll be having a fun Jelly Drops taste test game too, with a chance to try different flavours and join in some light-hearted fun together!

🎶 We had a fun-filled musical morning at our Memory Café on Tuesday! ☀️

With the warm weather, we started the morning with refreshing ice lollies, which went down a treat. 🍦

Amy then wowed everyone with her amazing voice and fun dance routines, bringing plenty of rhythm, smiles, and laughter all round. 🎵💃

We finished our morning with a lively game of playing card bingo ♥️ ♦️ ♠️ ♣️ — lots of fun and friendly competition to end a lovely session! 🧡

A great session for anyone thinking about taking that first step. Music can help spark memories, lift moods, encourage conversation and bring people together, making it a lovely gentle introduction for first-time visitors 🧡

Tuesday morning we enjoyed a lovely session of sharing stories and memories together 💛 It was wonderful to see the various photos and meaningful items many brought along to share.

A big thank you to Jo from Unique Senior Care for joining us and to the attendees that had fun helping with demonstrations of helpful gadgets and ways to support a loved one’s movement safely and comfortably. The session focused on supporting people to live more independently and sparked lots of interest, conversation, and laughs along the way. Many of the items shown are easily available online, giving families simple ideas they may wish to explore themselves. Jo will also be visiting Kenilworth Memory Café on the 15th of July for anyone that missed it.

We ended our morning with a session of Love to Move, a seated movement programme designed by the British Gymnastics Foundation for people living with memory issues but also good for everyone, bringing plenty of smiles, movement, and fun finishing the morning together.

Next Tuesday we are excited to welcome Amy, an amazing singer, who will be joining us to help celebrate the end of Jazz Week 🎤💃 We are looking forward to a fun morning filled with music, singing, and smiles.
