✈️ Travel, memories, laughter & a little friendly competition! 💛

We had a lovely, chatty morning at Leamington Memory Café yesterday, talking about our favourite ways to travel, sharing holiday memories and looking through old holiday brochures and memorabilia. 🌍🧳

After a fun group quiz, we made paper aeroplanes and put them to the test, trying to land them near Cubbington Airport! ✈️ There was plenty of laughter and definitely some competitive spirits!

We finished with a short Love to Move session and our favourite “piano fingers” routine. 🎹🧠

The piano fingers are one of the trickier movements, requiring concentration, coordination and a good bit of brain power! Watching everyone’s progress as they master these intricate finger movements is just wonderful to see. ❤️

Another lovely morning of memories, connection, laughter and fun! 💕

🎶 What a delight it was to welcome Val & Rob back to our Leamington Spa Memory Café on Tuesday morning! 🎶

Music has such a wonderful way of bringing people together, and it was lovely to see people jumping up to dance, singing along and enjoying some of their favourite songs. 💃🕺🎵

We’ll be enjoying a session all about holidays and travel ✈️🚗🚂 — sharing memories of favourite holidays and different ways of travelling over a nice drink and some biscuits. ☕🍪
This will be followed by Love to Move — a fun brain and body workout to some all-time favourite songs! 🎶

From Wednesday 9th September, our Kenilworth Memory Café will have a new home at The Kenilworth Centre!

We’ll still be meeting every Wednesday from 10.30am–12.30pm, and we’ll be celebrating our first session in our new home with one of our favourite activities... cake decorating! 🧁

From laughter and lively conversation to complete silence and concentration… Tuesday morning had it all! 💙

We started with a fun quiz, with plenty of chatting and laughter around the room. Then came Bingo Bonanza… and suddenly, it was eyes down and locked in! 👀🎱

A big thank you to our wonderful volunteer, Lynn, for hosting the bingo and calling out the numbers. It was lovely to see everyone's competitive side coming out! Congratulations to all of our bingo winners! 🏆👏

Next Tuesday, 1st September, we're delighted to welcome Val & Rob back to entertain us. We're looking forward to getting everyone singing, dancing and enjoying another fun-filled morning together! 🎶💃🕺

🌿🎶 A HUGE thank you to Lex for joining us at our Memory Café on Tuesday morning! 🎶🌿

Her beautiful music was so soothing and relaxing — the perfect accompaniment to our fun craft activity. 💕🎵

Our nature theme was a big hit too! 🦔🌿 Many of our attendees are now looking forward to setting up hedgehog homes in their gardens, and it was lovely to hear everyone sharing stories and memories about pets they have had throughout their lives. 🐾🧡

For now, everyone has a paper hedgehog to take home, made from a book during our craft session — a lovely reminder of our morning together! 🦔📖💕

🧡 Another lovely morning at Leamington Memory Café! 🧡

This Tuesday we were delighted to welcome Sophie from Unique Senior Care, who also works as a Police Officer. 👮‍♀️ Sophie shared some really useful tips in a fun and dementia-friendly way, helping us learn how to spot phone scams and keep our homes, belongings and loved ones safe. 🏠🔐

We also learnt about the Herbert Protocol, an important tool that can help if a vulnerable person goes missing. You can find out more here: "Herbert Protocol – https://herbertprotocol.com/complete-a-herbert-protocol-form/

We finished with a joyful session of Love to Move, bringing everyone together through music and movement. 🎶💃

🌿 Next Tuesday: We’re looking forward to a lovely Nature & Music Morning, with nature-inspired crafts to enjoy over a cuppa and a friendly chat, along with the wonderful Lex joining us to sing mantras and share some beautiful music with us. 🎶🌸☕️

🚨 What’s On Tuesday 11th August? 🚨

We’re delighted to welcome Sophie, who works as a Police Officer as well as being a manager at Unique Senior Care. 🧡

Sophie will be joining us for a friendly chat about staying safe in our local community, including helpful advice around crime prevention, scams and keeping ourselves and our homes safe. 🏡🔐

It’s a great opportunity to ask questions, share any concerns and pick up some useful tips.

🧁🎶 What a wonderful Tuesday at Leamington Memory Café! 🧡

We enjoyed some fun cake decorating, with plenty of creativity, laughter and, of course, a few tasty treats!

We were also delighted to welcome Alan & Frank, who filled the room with music, laughter, and plenty of singing. Music can spark memories, lift spirits, reduce anxiety, and bring people together in such a special way.

Each Tuesday brings something different to enjoy, from live music and creative activities to informative guest speakers and everyone's favourite game of bingo. Whether you're joining us for the first time or are a regular face, there's always a warm welcome waiting.

🧁 Tuesday 4th August – Celebrating Beth's Birthday
We'll be celebrating our wonderful Café Coordinator, Beth, by decorating delicious cupcakes together before enjoying a fantastic morning of live music from Frank & Alan. Come along to celebrate, sing, share plenty of laughs and enjoy great company.

👮 Tuesday 11th August – Crime Prevention & Community Safety
We're pleased to welcome Sophie, who'll be joining us to talk about staying safe, crime prevention and the support available from the police. It's a relaxed and informative session, with plenty of opportunities to ask questions and pick up some helpful tips.
