New Street Nature Park

New Street Nature Park A burial ground left untended for many years. We hope to turn this space into a vibrant, well loved, attraction for local people.

Local community group ARC have funding from the Tesco carrier bags scheme to develop the old Burial Ground on New Street into a vibrant Green Space. We will run workshops to consult with local people and to produce habitat boxes for birds and insects. We will develop some natural play features for children. We will run weekly gardening sessions to keep the site tidy and looking nice. Local people

are invited to get involved in a variety of ways: attending habitat workshops; sharing ideas for how to develop and maintain the site; getting involved in gardening; helping with publicity or with research about the history of the site.
