Our out going president John Brewster handed over the chain of office to our new president Ian Lynn. A lovely evening at the Thrums Hotel with club members and guests and a delicious meal. Great way to spend a Tuesday night.

President Ian welcomed Becky Findlay & Emily MacDonald who talked about setting up a Kirriemuir Junior parkrun. Their enthusiasm was great and it has inspired many of us to get involved. If you would like more information about volunteering for the parkrun scan the QR code

We were delighted to host an afternoon tea for Re-Engage on Sunday. It was held at Kirriemuir Day Care Centre and it proved to be a great success. Rotarians and some rotary volunteers provided the food and the entertainment too.

Here are the winners who come from Northmuir Primary School

Louis won £10 voucher for the Easter Treasure Hunt.
Lucy winning the P1-P5 category for the Art Competition winning £50 voucher for her school donated by Muir Hardware Store, Kirriemuir.

Also pictured are Eva & Niamh who came 2nd in the same category.

And the first ever recipient of The Rotary Citizen of the Year goes to Lindsey Wilson.
Both Rotary Clubs: Rotary Club of the Angus Glens and The Rotary Club of Kirriemuir were delighted to award Lindsey tonight, which was a surprise for her.

This evening club members were delighted to welcome Dr Joyce Cameron, a retired anesthetist, who did volunteer work for Mercy Ships in Madagascar. A very enlightening talk which highlighted the marvellous works they do to underprivileged countries around the world. She plans to return to Mercy Ships in October to volunteer for a further 2 months.
The club made a donation to the Charity and wished her well.

What a fantastic meeting tonight in the Thrums. We were delighted to welcome Kim Cameron, members and guests: Kim spoke to us about the 12 year journey from Jam to Dram - the story of her company The Gin Bothy. She was so passionate about the products they make, very knowledgeable about the history and the processes and spoke so well with no notes. She brought along some lovely samples for us all to try.
Hearing all about the Glen Prosen Distillery and her vision for its future was just so interesting. A future visit will definitely be on the cards.
