Fact! When you have spent most of your life in a fight or flight pattern it’s easy to slip back from time to time, and for me I feel horrendous after it. I’ve learnt now to allow it, sit with it, and accept that the fact I’ve recognised that behaviour is a win. Apologise if you need to and move on 🥰

I was guilty of this when I first began this journey. I replaced alcohol and parting with the gym. I was obsessed and would train twice a day 5 or 6 times a week! A much better switch but little did I realise I was still escaping. Digging deep into my shadows in the years that followed have cleared so much. I no longer feel the need to escape my own feelings 🙏✨

There is a time to push and a time to rest. All of these have their place, but not at the neglect of stillness and solitude. Stillness is a necessary pre-requisite to living an intentional and considered life. So many of us live in a state of perpetual motion and perpetual noise, leading to overwhelm, a lack of agency and an inability to really tune in to what we want and need, leading us to a destination that we never set out for.
