Menopaus'ull Support Network are regular visitors to Holderness House - it must be something about the peace and tranquility of our hidden haven that keeps them coming back.

✨ Last night’s Menopaus’ull production planning session was something really special. ✨

Held in the beautiful surroundings of Holderness House, away from the busyness of everyday life, we were joined by an amazing group of women who helped shape the production with their thoughts, experiences and creativity.

Guided by Dr Lucy Fielding from the University of Hull, conversations around lighting, mood and content quickly became something much deeper – honest reflections and lived experiences that will help ensure this production is authentic and truly representative.

Thank you to everyone who shared so openly. Your voices are at the heart of this project and we are so grateful. 💜

What an incredible day! We’ve welcomed 243 visitors through the gates today enjoying the Garden Village Open Gardens event. The event was beautifully supported by 10 volunteers.

We raised £180 for Dove House from map sales and £153 was raised for Holderness House from refreshments and plants. We’ve also got lots of Dolly Peg people ready to add to our Alphabet of Hull piece.

We’ve got new volunteers signed up, new contacts have been made, new craft group members will hopefully join our weekly sessions and we could have sold out half a dozen heritage talks so we’ll definitely be looking at that in addition to Heritage Open Days. We’ve had so many conversations with local people and it’s been wonderful to be able to share the positive work taking place within the house and grounds.

Maps will be available from our Laburnum Avenue entrance with map sales going to support Dove House Hospice.

At Holderness House we’ll have crafts, refreshments, plant sales and of course, our extensive grounds to explore

Today it’s the turn of with the lovely team from Talented Women encouraging guests to take a pause. We’re the perfect venue to do just that, even if we do say so ourselves.

Will it rain? Won’t it rain? That’s been the question for the last week as we prepared to welcome Hull CVS for their celebration of volunteering. The answer arrived as the guests did but after a quick ‘everyone inside!’ We were able to move the party back out into our beautiful grounds and enjoy the food and entertainment
