Hull Ethnic Minorities Community Centre

Hull Ethnic Minorities Community Centre Provider of ESOL and IELTS English lessons to migrants and refugees. We have been delivering ESOL tuition successfully since September 2006.

We play an important role in improving the quality of people's lives in disadvantaged areas. Since HEMCCFL started delivering these courses hundreds of learners have been assisted.Some have got citizenship, some have found employment, some have learned to read and write, some have been referred to other organisations for further training and some are continuing to study ESOL. We are fully accredited by City and Guilds.

📣 A Personal Message to Afghan friends.

If you or someone you know is confronting forced return to based on misjudged assumptions of safety, know this:

The situation on the ground remains dire, particularly for women, former public servants, activists, journalists, and ethnic minorities.

You have the legal right to submit an appeal and challenge decisions claiming Afghanistan is "safe."

Organizations like CIAC are fighting for you, seeking to restore protection based on international human rights standards.

✅ Action Steps
Contact CIAC right away if you face return decisions or asylum denials.
Provide full details of your circumstances; your gender, work history, affiliations, and personal threats.
Gather supporting evidence; legal notes, threat records, prior work, affiliations, testimonies.
Use every legal avenue: appeal beyond initial refusals, use judicial reviews or human rights arguments.

Forced returns continue despite widespread evidence that Afghanistan remains unsafe for many groups.
Appeals are not optional - they are a critical tool to resist wrongful removal.
Legal support and advocacy can make the difference between return and protection.
Together, we must ensure that forced return is not viewed as acceptable because it is deemed safe. Afghan lives are at stake. CIAC’s work matters and so does your voice.
