Such an important message, been too many tragedies recently. When you’re at the pool get your children to practise the starfish float, it could save their life

We want everyone to enjoy going for a swim, but with more and more people heading to the water and tragic drowning incidents once again highlighting the potential risks, below is some key water safety advice to help keep safe around the water:

Know the Water Safety Code

🛑Stop and think; always swim in a safe place
🏊Swim in supervised, lifeguarded areas
🌊Enter the water slowly and carefully

Stay together 🤝
Stay within reach of others, and keep children in arms reach at all times

Float 🛟
If you fall in or become tired, float on your back, breathe, relax and call for help

🚨If you see someone in an emergency:

📞 Call 999 (If you're at the coast, ask for the Coastguard, if you’re inland ask for Fire and Rescue)
🗣 Tell the person in the water to float on their back, breathe, relax
🟡 Throw them something that floats

If you’re not out watching the Red Arrows there’s spaces in the 5.30pm General Swim tonight (Friday)- you may even see them go overhead! ✈️ 🏊🏽‍♀️

📣 We’re glad to announce the return of our free accessible community swims! 📣

These sessions are available to anyone with physical or learning disabilities and their families. The session is restricted to 35 swimmers to provide a quieter and calmer swim for those who need it.

Our first session has been funded by the co op local community grant and is on Saturday 30th May 6-7.30pm ☀️

As sessions are limited please cancel your booking if you can no longer attend to make sure the places don’t go to waste!
