Kilmarnock & District Model Railway Club will be exhibiting this weekend, Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st May 2026, at the Model Railway Weekend in Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life, Heritage Way, Coatbridge, United Kingdom, ML5 1QD.

The exhibition is open from 10am to 4pm both days and has free entry.

Come along for a fun day out with a selection of model railway layouts and trade stalls. The museum also has mine tours, a play area, café, and activities for children.

Come and see our N Gauge layout, Spottiswoode Junction and our OO9 Gauge layout Porridge Quarry.

Work continues on the update of our OO gauge layout Netherton. The team have been busy upgrading and restoring the scenery and buildings.

Hi folks, great to see some nice weather at last. Hope we can see some of you at the Scottish Maritime Museum this weekend for the Spring Creatives Market. It is free entry this weekend and we will have our interactive layout, Ward's Way, there. Pop along to the Museum at Harbourside in Irvine, say hello, and have a go at driving the trains.

We have been getting on with a scenery makeover on our large club layout, Netherton. It really is making a big difference. See the attached pictures.

Our new O gauge layout is also making good progress with ballast and ground cover being applied to the boards that have the trackwork complete. More on this with some images later.

Kilmarnock and District Model Railway Club will be attending the Creative Market at the Scottish Maritime Museum in Irvine on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd of March with our interactive layout, Ward's Way.

Come along to this free to enter event and say hello to the team. Children, young and old, are welcome to have a go at driving the trains throughout the weekend.

Although Kilmarnock and District Model Railway Club will not be exhibiting at Model Rail Scotland a few of our members will be attending the show.

It looks like it will be a great show, with the Railnuts, Making Tracks layout, having its Scottish debut.

Are you guys going? We hope to meet up with lots of friends on the weekend of Friday 27th to Sunday 29th of March, just over 3 weeks away.

Hope to bring an update on work in the clubroom later this week so keep following.

We are still working on re arranging the club room this week with some layouts getting moved to make space to put up layouts that need some work done on them.
