🌟𝐂𝐎𝐑𝐍𝐄𝐑 𝐂𝐔𝐏𝐁𝐎𝐀𝐑𝐃🌟
On Monday, CVO East Ayrshire's Brenda and Morgan visited the Corner Cupboard Food Larder at their new premises in Kilmarnock's Burns Mall to see first-hand the incredible impact they are making in the local community.

The Corner Cupboard is much more than a food larder. Alongside their original 57 London Road, premises, this new town centre location will provide essential food support right in the heart of Kilmarnock. They also operate a Paint Corner, helping to reduce waste through the reuse and recycling of unwanted paint. Their school uniform reuse and recycling initiative ensures families can access quality uniforms while keeping items out of landfill. ♻️

Excitingly, they are also preparing to launch a new service providing beds and furniture to individuals and families in need, offering practical support to help people create a safe and comfortable home environment. 🛏️🏡

Community projects like this thrive because of the generosity of volunteers, donors and supporters. If you'd like to be part of something truly special, why not sign up to volunteer? Every donation and every pair of hands makes a real difference:

Together, we can support local people, reduce waste and build a stronger community.💙

Last Wednesday, Brenda (CVOEA Community Development Lead) visited YMCA Kilmarnock and met with Kirsty, Volunteer Coordinator, to learn more about the fantastic work taking place at the branch.

During the visit, Brenda shared CVOEA's Volunteer Handbook, volunteer role descriptions and information on upcoming events, while discussing opportunities to strengthen volunteer engagement and community involvement.

The visit included a tour of the garden area at the rear of the building and it was great to hear about the recent launch of Fresh Food Fridays in the fully refurbished café and their exciting plans developing a Men's Shed.

A variety of volunteering opportunities are currently available at YMCA Kilmarnock. If you'd like to get involved and make a difference in your community, find out more below:
