Cadet & Junior League – Day 4 Round‑Up!
Final day of the season
What a fantastic end to this year’s Cadet & Junior League. The hall was buzzing from start to finish, and our Britannia players once again showed determination, teamwork, and real progress across all divisions.
πŸ₯‡ A special congratulations to Cadet Team 4, who were crowned Division 4 champions! A brilliant achievement built on consistency and great team spirit β€” Elliot, Jacob and Seb supported each other superbly all day.

A huge thank you to John Graham for organising another smooth and well‑run event, supported brilliantly by Alexander and Tarun. It’s a big job to keep the whole day flowing, and their efforts make a massive difference.

Thanks also to our on‑the‑day coaches Lucy and Praveen, who barely had a moment to breathe with so many matches happening at once. Joe, Sean and Wayne were missed today, but their support over the first three days has been invaluable. Also many thanks for the support of the parents.

πŸ… Runners‑up finishes for Britannia:
β€’ Junior Team 1 – Division 2
A superb effort, especially from Seb McL, returning from injury and playing a total of 19 singles across Juniors and Cadets β€” winning 17 of them. Outstanding!
β€’ Cadet Team 1 – Division 1
Finished just 1 point behind winners Paragons and level with Rougham in an extremely tough division. Hanusri, Maisie and Thinuka also stepped up and played some matches in the Juniors.
β€’ Cadet Team 3 – Division 3

πŸ“Š Other team results:
β€’ Junior Team 2 – 6th in Division 2
β€’ Cadet Team 2 – 3rd in Division 2
β€’ Cadet Team 6 – 3rd in Division 4
β€’ Cadet Team 5 – 4th in Division 1 (a tough ask with only two players available)

A brilliant end to the season β€” well done to every player, coach, and volunteer who made it happen. The progress across the club is clear to see, and we’re excited for what comes next.

Great evening with the Britannia coaching team last night!
We got together for a well‑deserved social β€” a chance to relax, enjoy a meal, and recognise all the effort everyone puts into coaching at the club.
We were only missing newly qualified Level 1 coach Chris, who had a very good reason… he was off watching an Ipswich Town win!

Completing the coaching team, but not there last night are our two young leaders, Danny and Percy, who continue to do a brilliant job supporting our U11 sessions.

Coaching is at its best when you work as a team: supporting each other, sharing ideas, and always putting the players first. That’s exactly the culture we have at Britannia.

With my focus shifting more towards my role as Coach Developer with Table Tennis England, I’ve had to slow down at the club β€” but it’s fantastic to see the coaching team thriving and the club in such capable hands. Their energy and willingness to learn make a huge difference.

Table Tennis England British Club League – Cadets & Juniors πŸ“

Sunday 30th November saw a fantastic day of table tennis at Stowmarket TTC, with both the Cadet and Junior British Club League in full swing.
πŸ™Œ A total of 24 Britannia players represented the club across the day β€” each one a credit to the team with their effort, attitude and sportsmanship.
πŸ‘ Huge thanks to our ever-supportive parents and to club coaches Praveen, Sean and Wayne, who were there throughout the day to guide and encourage the players.
🎯 A special shout-out to two of our own Britannia juniors who took on the challenge of organising the entire event β€” with great support from John Graham. They did a brilliant job and showed real leadership.

A proud day for the club β€” well done to everyone involved!

An Exciting New Era for Britannia TTC Coaching! πŸš€

Following my recent announcement about my new role as a Coach Developer for Table Tennis England, I am excited to confirm the strong, experienced coaching team and structure that will maintain the high quality of the programme, starting October 1, 2025.

While I shift my focus to my national role, I am immensely proud to announce the permanent coaching team that will take the reins:

Sean Gridley (Level 2): Leading our Thursday U11's and Development sessions.

Lucy Curtis (Level 2): Leading the Tuesday Development session.

Joe Fortnum-Adams (Level 1): Leading the Friday Performance session.

I will continue to support the transition by coaching the Monday and Wednesday Performance sessions as long as my new role allows it.

I am also thrilled to have vital support from experienced players Praveen, Wayne, Chris, and Kennedy, as well as dedicated juniors Danny and Percy. Their commitment ensures every session benefits from high coach-to-player ratios and quality individual support.

I am truly looking forward to this next phase of growth for all our players under the guidance of this excellent and dedicated team!

The new Schedule and full details have been sent to all registered players and parents via email.

Aad Kwakkelstein has joined the Table Tennis England team as a Coach Developer.
