Well… what a deliciously dark night that was on Saturday ! 🖤 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, brought to life so brilliantly by Jonathan Goodwin and Don’t Go Into The Cellar! It’s been far too long since the hall echoed with such wonderfully macabre mischief.

We’re absolutely delighted with this fiendishly good collaboration — and we can’t wait to welcome you back in December for more thrills with Sherlock Holmes! 🔍

Dear quiz legends 🧠✨

We’re really sorry to say that this Saturday’s Quiz Night won’t be going ahead. It turns out there are a lot of exciting events happening right now, and our quiz couldn’t quite tempt enough teams away!

Rather than run a half-full showdown, we’ve decided to postpone and come back bigger, better, and even brainier 💡

All tickets will, of course, be fully refunded.

Thank you so much for your support — and don’t worry, the quiz will return! In the meantime, if you have any questions, feel free to message the Quiz Team on [email protected]

Stay sharp and see you soon! 🏆

🧠 Just 9 days to go until our Quiz Night!

We need your support to make it a success 🙌

Every pound raised will go directly towards the ongoing refurbishment of our village hall — with a special focus on improving the toilets 🚻✨

It’s a great cause at the heart of our community, and we’d love your help to get there. Whether you’re joining the quiz, donating, or spreading the word, it all makes a difference ❤️

Let’s come together and make it count!

💡 DID YOU KNOW?
Built in 1899, Saltwood Village Hall was the "munificent bequest" of Robert Thompson, a prominent local land agent and churchwarden who wished to provide the village with a central hub, almshouses, and a nurse's residence. Designed in the stylish Arts and Crafts tradition, the building is celebrated for its unique sloping buttresses and its perfect harmony with the historic village green.
For over 125 years, the hall has served as the indispensable heart of Saltwood. It has transformed from a wartime soldiers' club and an ARP wardens' post into a vibrant venue for libraries, dances, and local groups. Today, it remains a "great boon to villagers," standing as a testament to Thompson’s vision of a thriving, connected community.

Research provided by local historian Mike de la Mare.

Let’s keep our hall thriving and our brains buzzing! See you there! 🏆
