Hawkinge Community Centre is currently recruiting for a full-time Duty Manager to join our small and friendly team.
This is a varied, hands-on role with responsibility for the smooth day-to-day operation of the Community Centre. Working as part of the management team, you will help ensure that the Centre remains welcoming, safe, well presented and provides a high standard of service to our customers and hirers.
The role includes supervising staff while on duty, dealing with customer enquiries, taking and managing bookings, setting up rooms and equipment, opening and closing the building and assisting with the general housekeeping and day-to-day running of the Centre.
The Duty Manager will also have specific areas of responsibility and will work with the Centre Manager to help increase usage, maintain high operational standards and support the continued development and financial sustainability of the Centre.
We are a small team, so we are looking for someone who is happy to get involved in all aspects of running a busy community facility. The successful candidate will need to be confident dealing with the public, able to use their own initiative and comfortable taking responsibility for the Centre while on duty.
Previous experience in leisure, hospitality, customer service or a supervisory role would be an advantage, although training can be provided to the right candidate.
Above all, we are looking for someone with a professional and positive attitude who is reliable, enthusiastic, flexible and committed to providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards.
The role will involve working a mixture of daytime, evening and weekend shifts in accordance with the Centre's opening hours.
