Ujima Educational Development Project

Ujima Educational Development Project http://www.uedp.co.uk Based in Huddersfield West Yorkshire, we develop and deliver educational support programmes for 9-16 year olds. Tel: 07956 114 217.

Established in 2010, Ujima’s principle aim is to provide children and young people with the opportunity to develop their self confidence and self respect in order to enable them to reach their full potential within the education system, therefore enabling them to develop to the point in which they can make a meaningful contribution to their community and society in general. UJIMA is a Swahili word

which means ‘collective work and responsibility.’ Within the context of the work of the Ujima organisation, we strive to bring people together in order to work in partnership as part of meeting our long term aims. We work in partnership with parents, teachers, children and young people, voluntary and statutory organisations and the wider community in general, with a main focus of meeting the individual needs of children and young people, promoting their development and raising their educational attainment. In true UJIMA style, parents, carers, teachers, children, young people and community organisations are a central part of the way that we work and the work that we do.
