👻 Dare you join us for a Halloween Howler?

This spooky circular walk of just under 3 miles takes us past a grave-filled boneyard, alongside a murky river and through the crumbling remains of long-forgotten mills. From shadowy lanes to a foreboding woodland, there's plenty to stir the imagination as darkness falls across the Holme Valley.

Expect ghost stories, ghoulish jokes and a few Halloween surprises along the way. And for those brave souls who make it to the end, there's the option of a well-earned drink at the Farmers! 🍻

As ever, please come prepared for an autumn evening outdoors. Expect uneven ground, potentially muddy or slippery paths and low-light conditions, so bring suitable footwear and a torch, and make sure you're comfortable with the terrain.

We'll weave our way through winding, narrow streets, cobbled lanes and higgledy-piggledy houses before leaving the old town behind and heading out into the surrounding valleys and hillsides.

Dare you tread the path to Dead Man’s Hole? Or perhaps scamper past the Wolfstones? 👀

This flattish 3-mile circular walk takes us through quiet hamlets, picturesque villages and some of the lesser-seen corners of the Holme Valley. Along the way, familiar landmarks like Castle Hill and Holme Moss make an appearance, while secluded tracks and remote farmland offer a different perspective on the landscape we know so well.

It’s a lovely early autumn wander with plenty to discover, a few intriguing names along the way and, as always, plenty of opportunity for fresh air and good conversation.

This 3-mile circular walk takes us out from the heart of Marsden and into the rugged landscape of the Marsden Moors. Along the way, we'll pass reminders of the area’s industrial past, head out across wild moorland and discover abandoned dwellings that hint at the people and communities who once called this landscape home.

It’s a walk full of contrasts — from the familiar streets of the Colne Valley to open, windswept moorland — with plenty to see, plenty to talk about and a chance to enjoy one of the most striking landscapes on our doorstep.
