Crossroads Care Kent

Crossroads Care Kent Crossroads Care Kent is a leading charity supporting unpaid carers in Kent. The scheme is registered as an Excellent provider by the Care Quality Commission.

We help Carers to make a life of their own outside caring by providing quality services offering peace of mind while they take some time to themselves. Crossroads Care Kent supports Carers by offering high quality replacement care for people who have care needs, allowing a Carer to have time to themselves to work, rest or play, knowing that their family member/friend is being well cared for. The s

ervice reduces Carers' stress levels and tiredness, helps Carers to remain in employment, and prevents or delays the need for residential care or social services intervention. The support we offer can include all areas of personal care of the person with a disability or illness, as well as care related tasks such as preparing simple meals. Once referred Crossroads Care staff will meet with both the Carer and the person they care for to discuss and plan a short breaks service that meets both their needs. This may be a regular weekly break but sometimes longer or more frequent support may be necessary and this is arranged at a time to best suit the family. The family are then introduced to a carer support worker who as far as possible, remains the regular staff member for that family. During a Crossroads Care visit a Carer has the option of either staying at home, relieved of their caring responsibilities for a while, or they may prefer to go out alone or with friends in order to maintain a life of their own. During this time the Crossroads carer support worker stays with the dependant person, spending quality time with them. Some families may need additional support to go out together, perhaps to a social event or to attend a health appointment. The aim of a Crossroads Care service is to offer regular help and support to prevent a breakdown in the health of the Carer which in turn, will help someone who needs care, stay at home for longer. As a charity Crossroads Care works closely with the local authority, health service and other voluntary organisations to add to the services that already exist but not to replace them. Crossroads Care is available throughout Kent. Referrals can be made by anyone, including Carers themselves, by telephone or in person.

Incredible Challenge Alert β€” Please Support Andy!

One of our amazing supporters, Andy, is taking on one of the toughest endurance challenges in the world this Sunday 14th June β€” an Ironman Triathlon in France! πŸ’ͺ

Andy will be pushing his limits across:
🌊 3.8km swim
🚴 179.3km bike ride
πŸƒ 42.4km marathon
…all in one day, aiming to finish in under 16 hours! 🀯

Having already fundraised for us at the London Marathon, Andy is continuing his campaign to raise even more for Crossroads β€” and we couldn't be more grateful! πŸ’™

Every penny raised goes directly to Crossroads Care Kent β€” supporting unpaid carers across Kent who give so much of themselves caring for a loved one.

Andy gave his all for our carers. Now it's our turn to give him a boost! πŸ™Œ

Carers Week 2026 | A Day at Knole Park, Sevenoaks 🏰

What a wonderful day out for our carers!

Today we visited the stunning Knole Park in Sevenoaks β€” one of England's greatest historic houses β€” as part of our Carers Week activities.

Our carers enjoyed exploring:
πŸ›οΈ The House & Showrooms β€” walking through rooms that served as an Archbishop's palace, a royal residence, and the Sackville family home, featuring beautiful textiles, paintings, and a world-class collection of Royal Stuart furniture
πŸ–ΌοΈ The Exhibition Courtyards β€” soaking in the history and atmosphere of this incredible estate
πŸ”¬ The Royal Oak Foundation Conservation Studio β€” a rare behind-the-scenes look at conservation work in action, where invaluable historic items from across the UK are carefully preserved

It was a true pleasure to give our amazing carers a well-deserved and memorable day out.

Carers give so much β€” moments like these are just a small way of saying thank you. πŸ™

It's Volunteers' Week β€” a moment to pause and truly celebrate the people who give so much of themselves. Volunteering isn't just giving time β€” it's giving hope. Our volunteers have shown up, supported carers through their hardest moments, and made a real difference in people's lives. We're endlessly grateful for every hour, every smile, every act of kindness. πŸ’›
