Popcorn's Story 😞
Like so many rescues right now, we are already struggling and had made the difficult decision that we simply could not take in any more animals. Then yesterday, a lovely young couple discovered a rabbit abandoned in a carrier in Blean Woods. Left there alone like rubbish 🤬🤬🤬
The couple did everything they could to find help and were eventually directed to us with other rescues being full. We sent the bunny straight to our vets, who thankfully confirmed she is healthy, friendly, and otherwise unharmed. Our amazing vets have named her Popcorn, and she is now safe in a large enclosure while we decide the best way forward for her.
We are utterly disgusted and furious that someone could do this. This poor rabbit was completely defenceless, dumped in the woods without food, water, or any chance of protecting herself. She is lucky she was found when she was. This could so easily have ended in suffering, injury, or death 😞
If you cannot keep your pet, for any reason at all, there are always other options. Contact a rescue, speak to a vet, ask for help, but do not abandon animals to fend for themselves. There is simply no excuse for this kind of cruel and irresponsible behaviour ‼️
