One of the great things about volunteering is that it can help you try something new.

After just three weeks of volunteering at the Cefn Hengoed Community Centre
MCLF Food Co-op, Victoria is already feeling the benefits:

“You meet new people, it gets you out of the house, and everyone is really nice.”
Her advice to anyone thinking about volunteering? Choose a place where you’re interested in the work they do - and give it a try.

Victoria was connected with the opportunity through Caren, GAVO’s Caerphilly Volunteering Officer, who helped her find a role where she could try something new.

💜🌹🌈 Calling All Bakers, Crafters & Florists! 🌈🌹💜

We’re getting ready for Oliver’s Bake & Craft Sale on 7th June, we would love your help! 💜 we have had some wonderful donations already, but we still need more to make the day a success.

We’re kindly asking for donations of:

🍰 Cakes, bakes & sweet treats
🧁 Homemade goodies (cupcakes, traybakes, brownies, biscuits)
🍞 Loaf cakes or whole cakes
🎁 Sweet cones, treat jars or bake gift boxes
🎨 Hand‑made crafts (candles, cards, jewellery, keepsakes)
💐 Floral arrangements

Every donation helps us raise vital funds to support the work of Rose’s Way Foundation 🌹 We are looking to hold the Bake and Craft sale on 7th June 💜🌹🌈

🧁 Important Food Safety Information (Please Read)
As we’ll be selling donated food, we must follow Food Standards Agency guidelines for community and charity events. To keep everyone safe, please make sure that:
✅ All food is freshly made in a clean, hygienic kitchen
✅ Hands, utensils and surfaces are clean during preparation
✅ Items are suitable to be kept at room temperature
✅ No food is past its use‑by date
✅ A full ingredients list is provided, with any of the 14 main allergens clearly highlighted

If you're a home baker, can we ask you list ingredients so we can add labels.
