🚂 Hedon Scouts Take on Beamish! ⚜️💙
What an adventure we’ve had at Beamish Museum!
Our Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Young Leaders stepped back in time for a brilliant trip packed with exploring, learning, laughter and plenty of memories along the way.
⛏️ We donned our hard hats and headed underground into the mine – with some looking slightly more confident about it than others!
🚋 We explored Beamish, discovering what life, work and travel were like in the past.
🐴 We encountered the horses… which apparently proved more terrifying for one of our leaders than they did for any of the young people! 😂 I'm expecting serious payback for posting this video Jamie Thompson; wish me luck !
🚌 There was plenty of travelling around the museum and, judging by the smiles, a lot of fun along the way.
🌙 And when the visitors went home, our adventure wasn't over! We had the rather unusual experience of sleeping overnight in the Masonic Hall – definitely not your average Scout meeting!
The young people were absolutely fantastic. Trips like this aren't just about having a fun day out; they're about trying something new, becoming more independent, spending time with friends, learning outside the classroom and making the sort of memories they'll still be talking about years from now.
A massive thank you to all our volunteer leaders and helpers who gave up their time and a comfortable night's sleep! 😴 to make the trip possible.
And, of course, thank you to Beamish Museum for having us!
