🌈 Every child deserves a safe, happy and secure start in life. Sadly, for thousands of families across Kirklees, that isn't the reality.
Behind every referral we receive is a parent lying awake at night wondering how they're going to afford nappies, replace outgrown clothes, or provide a safe place for their baby to sleep.
The need in our area is heartbreaking.
💔 1 in 3 households in Kirklees are affected by poverty.
💔 1 in 4 households survive on less than £10,000 a year.
💔 More than 31,000 babies, children and young people in Kirklees are growing up in poverty.
These are not just numbers. They are families living on your street, children attending your local nursery, and parents doing everything they can to make ends meet.
At Rainbow Baby Bank, we see the reality behind the statistics every single day.
We support families facing sudden financial hardship, rising living costs, fleeing domestic abuse and housing insecurity. Families who never imagined they would need help but have found themselves having to choose between heating their home, putting food on the table, or buying essential items for their little ones.
🌟 Every week, we provide nappies, formula, clothing, toiletries, cots, prams, bedding and other essentials to families who would otherwise go without.
Sometimes it's not just about the items we provide. It's about letting a parent know they're not alone. It's about restoring dignity, reducing stress, and giving children the safe and healthy start they deserve.
