First Match Report – 2026 Season

Happy New Year to you all.

Last night marked the first match of the 2026 season, and expectations were high after a strong influx of new members into our ever‑growing club.

Fishing took place from 17:00–23:00, with High Water at 20:42 on a 4.62m tide.

Conditions were exactly what you’d expect from a winter night: icy, with bait barely defrosting, and a powerful sea that refused to settle despite forecasts suggesting it would drop. Big waves kept rolling in throughout the session.

A total of 16 members turned out, including two of our newest Junior Members. Five anglers made it back to the scales. Here are the results:

1st – Lee Davies: 6620g (7 Cod)
2nd – Chris Smith: 1980g (2 Cod)
3rd – Reagan Wallace: 1960g (7 Whiting, 1 Dab) (JN)
4th – Rob Wallace: 1020g (4 Whiting)
5th – Craig Bage: 660g (1 Cod)

Heaviest fish also went to the ever‑reliable Lee Davies with a Cod of 1260g. He’s started 2026 exactly how he finished 2025.

A huge congratulations as well to Reagan Wallace, who took Top Junior honours.

Thank you to all members who braved the tough conditions. It was a cracking start to the year, and great to see those who weighed in getting well‑earned rewards.

A massive thank you to North East Tackle Supplies and Zulcron Sports and MadfishUK for their continued support of the club.

We are still welcoming new members. If you’re looking for a club full of knowledge, experience, and talented anglers, you’ll be in good company here.

Tight lines and stay safe, everyone.
