Content note: baby loss

After her son, Harrison, died at eight weeks old, when Paige found out she was expecting her son, Freddie, she wasn’t filled with joy.

“When Freddie was born, I felt like I was walking into a nightmare. I was terrified something would happen to him, like it did to Harrison.”

Thankfully, Paige’s local authority and NHS Trust had opted to offer The Lullaby Trust’s Care of Next Infant (CONI) programme, designed for families like Paige’s.

“The Lullaby Trust’s CONI programme was the biggest support for me. The breathing monitor they gave me was my lifeline... my miracle machine. It gave me the strength to close my eyes and rest. Without it, I don’t think I would’ve been able to be the mum I was. I would’ve spent the night staring at him in the Moses basket to check he is ok.

Paige doesn't know how she would’ve coped without CONI. But sadly, bereaved families have to face this alone if CONI has not been taken up in their area.

Every bereaved family deserves the peace of mind that CONI gives. Check if CONI is available in your county today 🔗 https://bit.ly/4oiXVxd. If it isn’t, you can email your MP in under a minute to help change that.

Thank you for helping to keep every baby safe, and every family supported. Thank you to Paige for so bravely sharing your story.

- Breaking the silence through every generation.

Although through the years talking about baby loss has become more spoken about it’s still a Taboo…

it’s like Harry Potter and the name that should not be spoken.

Losing your child no matter their age is an unbelievable heartbreak you can’t bare to imagine, the silence you feel while the world moves around you.
You can’t bare to breathe air because their not anymore, the pain and heavy feeling in your chest you carry. Questions after questions your brain asks itself, should I - could I , all the what if’s.

Time isn’t a healer - you can’t heal from this pain.
You just learn to live with it. - That’s the difference.

You learn to face the day, find comfort in different ways to feel close to them again.
You think back to the moments you’ve had, and hold them close.
You treasure the smallest of things.

Although your heart feels empty, they fill it right back up with the smallest thought of their memory.

So talking isn’t bad, asking about them isn’t bad and keeping their memory alive isn’t bad so why don’t we talk about it?

Nothing more I love then talking about my Harrison 🪽🩵

Massive thank you to the lullaby trust, for all their support and help with sharing and breaking the silence 💛
