🔵 Wednesday Juniors 🔵

Well, it's the last post for the Wednesday Juniors for this term. Last night, for our last night, the boys received their badges which they have worked so hard for throughout the year!

With an almost full crew, and one of our new recruits, we enjoyed some burgers and chips before ending our year off with a game of sardines and some fun outside!

The Wednesday Juniors have now all signed out for summer! We'll see you next term!

🔵 Wednesday Juniors 🔵

Last week and this week for the Wednesday Juniors (just a wee bit late...)

Last week the boys visited the third place on our World tour: Egypt 🇪🇬

They learned about the importance of the Nile for Egyptian civilisation, some of the Egyptian gods, and Pharaohs along with the process of mummification!

After all of their learning abiut Egpyt, the boys played Mummy! Well done to our newest recruit Jack, and his team for winning.

This week, the boys visited our last stop on the world tour of 25/26 with a very cold stop in Antarctica ❄️!

As a generally uninhabited location, the boys learned about the historical claims of land, and the current agreement over territory.

After learning about the history of Antarctica, we moved on to learning about the local wildlife, primarily the Emperor Penguin 🐧, which the boys had an opportunity to make after watching a David Attenborough video on Emperor Penguins.

Congratulations to Sgt Nathan Farrell receiving his Lanarkshire District Fellowship - The Boys' Brigade King's Badge certificate along with the other King's Men from Lanarkshire. This is the culmination of 2 years hard work, including over 100 hours of voluntary service in the community.

Well done Nathan! 🥳

On Thursday it was the last night of our 2025/2026 session. The Thursday night Anchor Boys and Junior Section had an amazing time running through the obstacle course that was set up for them and had time for a few quick games as well.
We ended our night giving out the badges to those boys who weren’t able to attend on Sunday.
We had an amazing year and can not wait to see everyone again in August.

🔵 Wednesday Juniors 🔵

On Wendesday night, the Wednesday Juniors continued their trip around the world, making their second stop in Brazil 🇧🇷!

The boys learned about the Brazilian flag and the meaning of its colours, as well as the Brazilian motto.

They then learned about the history of the modern Brazil that we know today, from its time as a Portuguese colony, to an independent Empire which came to its downfill when the emperor abolished slavery, and lastly to a Republic, which is still is.

Lastly, the boys learned abiut the Carnival, and the importance of mixing the many cultures that make up the Brazilian people, and then had an opportunity to make their very own Carnival masks!

Where will we be off to next, who knows?

Our closing church service and presentations of badges and awards will be held in Hamilton Old Parish Church of Scotland this Sunday, 31 May at 10.45am. Boys should be at the church hall by 10.15am.
