Develop your creative practice in The Everybody Studios We are an independent Art School, Gallery and Artist Studios committed to providing opportunity and engagement with art for all ages and all abilities. Our community of emerging and established artists, designers and creative Artist Educators support us in delivering a wide range of exciting programmes at the forefront of creative practice. We work with partners, local communities, schools, colleges, universities and the NHS to develop and deliver activities which encourage and create opportunity for artistic endeavour. Our regular programme of activities include courses, workshops, events, training and exhibitions. By combining classic techniques with inspirational approaches we have the joy of witnessing first hand the transformational effects of art on people's lives every day.

🍂 Our Autumn Term 2 courses are open for booking! 🍂

Our November - December programme is here, and we've got lots of lovely creative opportunities for you to enjoy!

This term, we're excited to introduce two brand-new courses:

· Mixed Ceramics – Explore the best of both worlds with a combination of handbuilding and wheel throwing.

· Nature Weaving – Slow down, connect with nature and enjoy some mindful making in this relaxing short course.

If you've always wanted to try a course with us but weren't sure which one was right for you, we've got just the thing. From 3 - 6 November, we're offering one-week tasters of all our six-week courses. Simply use the code TASTERAUTUMN when booking. If you enjoy your taster and would like to continue, we'll help you book onto the remaining weeks.

💜 A little reminder about booking early

We review bookings around a week before each course or workshop to make sure we have enough people to go ahead. If you're planning to join us, booking early really helps us avoid having to cancel sessions. If you're waiting for payday, just get in touch and let us know you're planning to come along!

🏺 Wheel Throwing Introduction | 10am – 4pm
Discover the art of wheel throwing in this full-day workshop with experienced potter Rosie Moon. With expert guidance and plenty of hands-on practice, you'll learn the essential skills to start creating your own pots on the wheel.

✏️ Life Drawing | 10.30 – 11.30am
Join artist Christopher Rainham for a gently tutored life drawing session in our gallery. Working from a life model, you'll develop your figure drawing skills in a relaxed, supportive environment. Perfect for beginners and those looking to build their confidence and drawing practice.

Love wildlife and the natural world? We think you'll like:

Painting Birds - 28 October
Take inspiration from our feathered friends and create your own garden bird painting in acrylic on a wooden panel.

🫟 For teachers

Looking for creative ideas and techniques to take back to the classroom? We think you'll like:

Lo-fi Printmaking - 27 October
Explore simple, playful printmaking techniques and create your own collection of unique prints. No printing press required!

✏️ For families

Fancy getting creative together? We think you'll like:

Sketchbook Club (Doodle Books) - 27 October
Create your own unique doodle books and have fun exploring different mark-making techniques. Perfect for adults and young people aged 8+ to enjoy together.

✨ For children

Got a young creative who loves to make, play and experiment? We think they'll like:

Holiday Art Club - 29 October
Spend the day making, decorating and experimenting with your own music-inspired creations.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our last Bloom Network. For November, we are so excited to be joined by the lovely Mel from Hey Nature! Here's some insights from Mel about what to expect on the day:

🌿 Get to know each other and some plants too

🖌️ Hear about Mel's story and practice, and explore some examples of her work

🎨 Create your own Nature Notebook page from natural samples and reference books for inspiration

There will be a gentle start at 10:30am, where the session will unfold in a relaxed and organic way. Feel free to stay for as long or as short you would like up to 1pm.

🌱 Growing creativity together!

Earlier this year, we worked with Cross Lane Primary School as part of the Seeds of Hope programme to create a beautiful micro show garden for the festival at Shibden Park.

The project was a wonderful example of what can happen when artists and schools come together to create meaningful creative experiences for young people.

As one member of staff at Cross Lane shared:

“Being part of the Seeds of Hope programme has been a wonderful opportunity for our pupils to work alongside Everybody Arts and the wider community. Together with Everybody Arts, Phoenix Men's Shed and over 190 children, volunteers and community members, we've shown what can be achieved when a community grows together."

During the Summer, we visited Scarborough with our fantastic Board of Trustees for an away day filled with creative inspiration.

The day was organised by Board Member, Chris Sands, who is currently supporting the cultural regeneration of Scarborough through his work with social enterprise, This Is Scarborough.

Led by Chris, we had the pleasure of visiting a number of creative and cultural spaces across the town, seeing first-hand how art and culture can play a powerful role in transforming places. From creating opportunities for local artists to supporting creative businesses to thrive in disused spaces, Scarborough is showing what can happen when culture is placed at the forefront of a town’s future.

Our away day was a really valuable opportunity to step outside the day-to-day and think creatively about our organisation. A huge thank you to everyone who welcomed us and shared their work and ideas – we all came away with lots of inspiration and ideas!

And, of course, a big thank you to our wonderful Board for their ongoing support and belief in our vision of creating a place where art and creativity are accessible to everybody. We’re excited to be on this journey with you (and excited to welcome Katie, our newest member!) 💜

🌿 Slow down, get creative and connect with nature 🌿

Nature weaving is a gentle, mindful activity that encourages us to slow down, explore our creativity and appreciate the colours, shapes and textures of the natural world.

Fancy giving it a go? Join us for a relaxing day of Nature Weaving:

📅 Saturday 24 October
⏰ 10am - 3pm

Working with sticks, branches, natural fibres, dried flowers and grasses, you’ll learn simple weaving techniques to create your own seasonal piece. Artist and educator Sarah O’Boyle will guide you through the process, helping you experiment with colour, texture and form. No previous experience needed!

🌿 Want to dive a little deeper into nature weaving? 🌿

Why not join our four-week Nature Weaving short course, starting Saturday 7 November.

You'll have plenty of time to experiment with natural materials, develop your skills and enjoy the gentle rhythm of working with your hands. By the end of the course, you'll have created your own collection of seasonal pieces to display at home or in the garden.

There is still time to sign up for our next Bloom Network event on Saturday 17 October, 10:30am - 1pm 🌸

When everything around us can feel fast-paced, having time to slow down and reconnect with ourselves and our surroundings can help to support our wellbeing.

Sarah will be inviting you to 'take notice' and focus on being present in the moment by exploring natural materials, textures and shapes.

Our Bloom Networks are a safe space for women and gender diverse people to connect with others who care about creativity and wellbeing. Networks are free to attend and you don't need any previous experience to come along.

✨ We're delighted to announce a new research and development project, made possible with funding from Arts Council England and National Lottery players!

Over the next ten months, we'll be working alongside artists, communities and partners to develop a bold, inclusive and sustainable artist-led strategy that supports artists to thrive and makes creativity accessible to more people.

This project is all about:

🤝 Listening to our artistic and creative communities
💡 Learning from inspiring artist-led organisations
🌱 Building a more inclusive and sustainable future

As part of the project, we'll be bringing together an artist steering group, a community focus group and a Real Living Wage traineeship for an emerging artist, ensuring different voices and experiences help shape our future.

We'll be sharing updates, insights and opportunities to get involved along the way, so watch this space!
