A big "thank you very much" to those members of the Halesworth Men's Shed who constructed a tree surround for us from the timber we turned up with, unannounced, a few Saturdays ago.
A splendid job done then and there and SO appreciated. πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

On 11 February 2026, at the corner of Durban Close and Bramfield Road, Town Council Chair Joyce Moseley, Lisa Simmonds and Alan Wetherby plant the new oak tree grown to mark Charles III’s coronation on 6 May 2023. The rain respectfully held off and everyone joined a group photo to celebrate a job well done!

Big thanks to Ardil, from Melons, who has given us two campanula plants for the Thoroughfare planters.

We'd like to say a big thank you to Rupert (we don't know his surname but his dog is called Henry) for cheering up our volunteer working in the Thoroughfare by donating to our funds and thereby helping to keep our town looking lovely. If you know who he is, please pass on our gratitude, and give Henry a pat from us!

Wow, what a fantastic Open Gardens 2025. Wall to wall sunshine saw a constant stream of visitors on the garden trail. By the end of the day our donation boxes were full and we were amazed to find we’d raised Β£900.88 (Β£772.83 net), which will be spent on keeping Halesworth's public spaces looking beautiful in 2026. Very many thanks to all our generous visitors, and of course to those who kindly agreed to open their gardens for the event. Thanks too to the Library for handing out the trail guides (and copying more when they ran out) and to Hetty's Little Copy Shop for the discount on all our printing. Here are some pictures from the day.
