This week's spotlight of the week is... Carol Walker.
What voice part do you sing? And how long have you been in the Choir?
I sing Soprano, and have been in the choir for around 5 years.
What made you join?
I was in another choir but sadly our choir leader moved area and we thought we would give the show choir a go.
What’s your favourite piece we’ve ever performed?
My favourite piece of music is
like a prayer.
If you could choose one song for the choir to sing, what would it be?
I would choose to sing
Mascarade from Phantom of the opera.
What is the song you’ll never get tired of?
I never get tired of Fairy tale of New York
If your life had a theme song, what would it be?
If my life had a theme song it would be My Way.
If you could duet with anyone (dead or alive), who would it be?
I would love to do a duet with Gary Barlow.
What’s your favourite thing about our Choir?
My favourite thing about the choir is the friendship we have, the laughs and singing with one another.
Best memory from rehearsals or performances?
My favourite memory is our trip to Poland. I loved the company , singing in the square, and seeing the Polish audience loving us singing to them. I remember a little girl dancing as we sang, her little face as she watched us was priceless.
Scotland again was another favourite singing in the cathedral in Inverness a wonderful experience
What would you say to someone thinking about joining?
I would say, don’t hesitate, you don’t have to audition, or read music, there are always people to help you and last of all enjoy the friendship you will not regret it.
What were your tour highlights?
My tour highlights are so many to mention,
but my favourite memory is when we were in Inverness. Definitely what Ula organised for us from the choirs from England to join the Black Isle folk, what a lovely evening we had, we were made very welcome. We sang and we laughed, we danced till we couldn't dance any more. It finished our tour on a high.
