The Children & Family Wellbeing Service are wanting your help.

They are asking for your support to help us hear directly from young people across Lancashire.

On 12 October, the Children and Family Wellbeing Service will launch a survey to gather feedback from children, young people and families. The survey is an opportunity for young people to share their views, experiences and ideas about support and services for children, young people and families across Lancashire.

We want to hear from as many young people as possible, including those who have never used Children and Family Wellbeing services, Family Hubs or any other support services.

Hearing from young people who have not accessed services is just as important as hearing from those who have. Their views will help us understand whether young people know what support is available, how easy it is to access information and advice, and where they would go if they needed help in the future.

How you can help

We would be grateful if you could:

• complete the survey
• share the survey with young people through your networks, groups and activities
• encourage young people to complete the survey and share their honest views
• explain that their feedback will be used to shape future services and support
• promote the survey through newsletters, websites, social media channels and other communication routes
• support any young person who may need help to complete the survey
• let residents know that support to complete the survey is available through Lancashire's Family Hubs or by emailing [email protected]

Survey link: www.lancashire.gov.uk/family-survey/

The feedback will help us build a better understanding of the experiences, needs and views of young people across Lancashire, ensuring their voices help shape future services and support.
Thank you for your support in helping us reach as many young people as possible.

Please see information that has been provided to us regarding the CYP Team at Lancashire & South Cumbria ICB regarding Right to Choose for ADHD/ASD assessments.

As you may be aware we have spent some time co-producing a position statement and FAQs for RTC and private autism and ADHD assessments. We are pleased to inform you that this has now been signed off, and the information is now available on our website - https://www.lancashireandsouthcumbria.icb.nhs.uk/our-work/special-educational-needs-and-disabilities-send/neurodevelopmental-pathway/right-choose-and-private-autism-and-adhd-assessments

We hope that this provides useful information for professionals and families alike. The information has also been shared with GPs across the footprint.

For information, we aim to start an accreditation process for RTC providers next year and we will keep you updated on the developments of this.

Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) recommends that all autism and ADHD assessments for children and young people (0-18 years) meet the Lancashire and South Cumbria Minimum

Researchers at Connectome Health, Imperial College are investigating how sleep, physical activity, stress and daily lifestyle factors influence cognitive performance and brain health in adults with ADHD.

The study combines repeated brain imaging (fNIRS) and cognitive assessments with longitudinal data from wearable devices. Participants attend 3-4 study visits to examine changes in brain activity and cognitive functions such as attention, cognitive flexibility and working memory over time.

4 sessions: 2 incredible groups.

🥹✨I just wrapped up my first 4-session adult ADHD course, and to say my heart is full would be an understatement.

Reading through the feedback from these amazing participants has completely blown me away.

Creating a space where adults with ADHD can feel seen, understood, and equipped with strategies that actually work for their brains is exactly why I do this.

To watch the shifts, the "aha!" moments, and the relief of realizing "I'm not broken, my brain just works differently" over the last four sessions has been an absolute privilege.

To everyone who trusted me and showed up: THANK YOU.

You are brilliant.

🎉We have our next online parental course starting on the 22nd September.
This is designed for parents with children with ADHD.

For anyone interested, please email [email protected] for a course application.

Children do not need to be diagnosed, under assessment or on the pathway to access this, but your child's GP does need to fall under Lancashire & South Cumbria ICB and you think that you want to go down the assessment pathway in the future.

Have you say and help shape future services for ADHD in Lancashire and South Cumbria

Earlier this year Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB ran a series of workshops to hear from people with lived experience of ADHD. We have been working on some of the ideas suggested at the workshops. We'd like to find out how well patients and service users think these ideas might work in practice.

We have put together a survey of the ideas we thought would make the biggest difference for the most people. The survey has 22 questions in 3 parts.

Part 1 is about the ADHD journey - questions 1- 7.
Part 2 is about possible support ideas - questions 8 -17.
Part 3 is demographics - age, gender etc.- questions 18 - 22.

Most of the questions will ask you to choose your answer from a list. Some of the questions also have text boxes for you to write your opinion. Some of the questions ask you to move a slider to rate your experience.

We know this is a long survey. It is important that we get as much information as possible, so we can provide better services for people living with ADHD.

You can complete the survey here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/t/ADHDadult/

Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB have launched a new Adult ADHD Support Service with ADHD North West, offering free information, education, and peer support.
