We have a bit of a thing for the Water of Leith Walkway so, in our effort to collect another section of it we made our way to the top of it at Balerno in May 2026.

Parking up at Currie Rugby Football Club we set out on a four and a half mile ramble. This part of the walk has some very dramatic views out over the Firth of Forth. Quite stunning!

Click on the video we made of the day and it will be just like you were there!

On Friday 15th May 2026 we headed for Balerno just outside Edinburgh to tackle a section of the famous Water of Leith Walkway. Built on the old trackway of a...

From time to time we will organise what we call a ‘Scoot’ where we will take out some of the scooters that haven’t been used recently to give them a run and check all is in order.

We don’t need to hire any vans to do this as where the scooters live is blessed with many lovely ramble routes nearby.

In April we held a Scoot from our Glenrothes base through the Town Park to the nearby town of Leslie.

The day was sunny and the area was looking its Spring best. Lucy, one of our volunteers decided to take some pictures of the ramble and we have been able to turn that into a wee video. Hope you like it.

From time to time, during our ramble season we will take some of the scooters we have, out for a 3 or 4 mile 'scoot'. This helps keep them in good working or...

....and we are off!! The new rambling season got off to a gentle start on Monday 6th April, 2026 when a number of us gathered at Quarrymill Woodland Park just outside Scone. In the beautiful Perthshire countryside.

Early spring did not disappoint, especially after the rain the day before, and we have a lovely dry and (relatively) warm ramble.

Everybody appreciated that the ramble was not too long (about 2 miles) at the start of what promises to be a busy season.

If you would like to join us on our rambles, or (always needed) consider volunteering for us, how about getting in touch via our website at: https://www.ftdr.uk/

You can find a video of the ramble on Youtube here: https://youtu.be/cA77D6-nBi4?is=0UbJYG51B4Uq5KTi

After what felt like a long winter the clocks have now sprung forward and we are officially in Spring!

That means that all the planning we were making over the winter is about to come to fruition.

We hold our first ramble on Monday 6th April 2026 when we will be visiting Quarrymill Woodland Park outside Perth.

We are all looking forward to getting out into our beautiful countryside one more and will report back with pics and a video.
