Yes, it is that time of year again, May 17th Norwegian Independence Day. In honour of all my Norwegian rowing friends the Norwegian flag is flying on the pole outside my house. It is also the day over 50yrs ago that I claimed the singles record, which still stands, for sculling the length of Loch Ness; (Guiness Book of Records and Guiness Book of Speed) seems like yesterday.

Ben was kind enough to help me down the brae, onto the pontoon and into the copy of my dad’s boat “Ann”. Ben filmed the outing. Great to see the two of us sculling together, great to be out in a boat and great to see how wonderfully my fiberglass copy of the “Bennie” performs.
Christopher is at Nottingham this week at the British University Championships coaching crews who are doing well. Results will be on the SU site Sunday night/Monday.be on the SU site Sunday night/Monday.

Swapping rowing colours.
Many years ago when Owen McGhee bought the Club a new flag, I suggested that the club strip should be changed to be similar to the flag, to which Owen agreed. Years and years later Ben has developped the idea and doesnt the strip look great. Owen would have loved it.
