CRAG Community Arts Based in the Wee School ArtSpace Girvan a hub for quality arts and crafts activities residencies and projects.

We also organise the annual Carrick Light Fest and Strandline events and provide expertise assistance and workshops for community projects.

The nights are drawing in, there's a wee nip in the air... it can only mean that the Lantern Maker's are coming out to play 👀

Come along to one of our drop in Lantern Making sessions starting on the 20th of September and running every Saturday until the Lantern parade on the 24th of October.

The Carrick Open Arts Exhibition may have ended but coming up we have Open Studios Ayrshire on 11th - 13th September

We are thrilled to be a group venue for 4 of the participating artists;

S J Hurn
Ruby Marr
Maryjean Govan
and featuring the work of Janet Laurie.

There will be demonstrations, drop in felting activities, Augmented Reality Art Works as well as it being a great chance to chat to the artists and learn more about how their works are created.

The Visual Artist & Craft Maker Awards (VACMA) 2026/27 are now open to support the creative and professional development of artists and craft makers across Ayrshire. 👩‍🎨✂️🧵

💷 Bursaries Available: £500 | £1,000
📅 Applications Open: Wednesday 26 August 2026

⏰ Deadlines
• Autumn round: 5pm, 20 October 2026
• Winter round: 5pm, 2 February 2027

• Research and development
• Exploring new ideas

VACMA is looking for applications that demonstrate:
