Shaun MacNeill

We are very sad to announce that Shaun MacNeill passed away peacefully at home aged 80, on Wednesday 16th September after an illness that he often described ‘as a bit of a pest, really’.

Much loved husband of Sue, a devoted father to Lucy and Sophie, and a beloved brother to Simon.

Shaun taught in Fleetwood at Larkholme High and Fleetwood High, and a lot of ex-students will remember him in his many roles at the school. In later years at the school he was known as the attendance teacher driving round going to pupils houses or looking for students 'wagging'. We are sure that everyone will share a story or two of their memories with him.

Shaun was also heavily involved in community work across Fleetwood, helping in different voluntary roles, such as Rotary, Governor at Fleetwood High and in a significant role with us at Westview Community Association. I can honestly say he will always be spoken about and will always be missed.

A celebration of Shaun’s life will be held at the North Euston Hotel, Fleetwood, on Thursday 15th October from 2.00pm, and all who knew him are warmly welcome to attend.

No flowers please. Donations in Shaun’s memory could be made to Westview Community Association or the RNLI
