On the 5th of February 1941, The Royal Air Force Air Cadets was formed. Today we celebrated the 85th anniversary of its formation. This took place at St Clement Danes Church, the Royal Air Force Church.

2 cadets and 2 staff members from our squadron were lucky enough to attend, as well as over 80 Kent Wing cadets, joining other cadets from around London and South East Region.

Marching with pride, remembering with gratitude. 1242 Faversham Squadron stand together in respect and remembrance.

We were honoured to take part in today’s Remembrance Parade. Marching not for ourselves, but for those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

A huge well done to all of the cadets who took part in today’s parade. You did 1242 Squadron proud! We were also joined by a current serving Royal Engineer, who is an ex-1242 Faversham cadet.

This weekend 3 cadets from Faversham participated in the Kent Wing Pentathlon along with 17 other squadrons from Kent. They participated in archery, leadership exercises, first aid, navigation and a vehicle pull.

A massive congratulations to Cpl Burt, Cpl Hudson and Cdt Figg for finishing 1st in the vehicle pull competition. This is the first time Faversham squadron have ever won an event at pentathlon. We also came 2nd in the leadership exercise and the 4th overall squadron.
