This piece of feedback really captures the spirit of Project C**t and what we aim to create here. It speaks to a welcoming, down-to-earth environment where people feel comfortable, included, and supported.

As highlighted in the feedback, it’s this feeling of connection and belonging that helps make our space feel different. A place where people can feel at ease, whether they are participating in a support group, catching up with others over a coffee or simply popping in to shop with us.

If you would like to find out more about us and the support we offer, please get in touch with our team: [email protected]

We’ve made it even easier to donate your pre-loved items to Project C**t!

If you have good quality furniture, clothing, household goods, electronics or bikes that you no longer need, you can now complete our simple online Goods Donation Form and tell us what you’d like to donate.

You can upload up to 12 images of your items, which helps us assess them quickly and arrange collection where needed.

We’re always looking for items in clean, good condition that are suitable for resale. These donations help raise vital funds that directly support our rehabilitation programmes and wider community initiatives, helping people in recovery build skills, confidence and move towards employment.

It’s also a great way to reduce waste and give your items a second life where they can really make a difference.

If you have larger items such as furniture and can’t transport them, we may be able to arrange collection depending on your location - please contact us.

To donate, simply fill in the form here:

👷‍♂️ Help Someone Take Their First Step Into Work 👷‍♀️

A pair of safety boots might seem like a small thing, but for many of the people we support, it's the difference between being able to start work or being left behind.

Through Project C**t’s Inspire and Achieve Programme, we help adults overcome barriers to employment, including homelessness, addiction recovery, long-term unemployment, and poor mental health. Before they can take part in training or work placements, they need the right safety equipment – and that starts with a pair of work boots.

By sponsoring a pair of safety boots, you're helping someone gain confidence, access opportunities, and move closer to a brighter future.

Every donation makes a real difference and helps someone take that important first step into work.

Purchases and donations made through our Charity Shop in Bridgefield Mills help us deliver programmes like our 12-week Progression into Employment Programme (PIEP), which supports people in recovery to develop the skills, confidence and experience needed to move towards employment.

PIEP is designed to help participants take positive steps towards their future, offering practical training, recognised qualifications and employment support in a supportive environment. Throughout the programme, participants can access opportunities such as barista training, food hygiene qualifications, forklift training, first aid, CV building and dedicated employment support, all aimed at helping them become work-ready and build confidence for the next stage of their journey.

The photos show one of the group's recent cooking sessions, where participants prepared chicken, potatoes, salad and homemade coleslaw for themselves and staff. While cooking may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about employment support, sessions like these help develop important workplace skills including teamwork, communication, planning, time management and confidence.

This is just one example of how money raised through our charity shop is reinvested directly into projects that make a real difference, helping people in recovery gain the skills and support they need to create brighter futures.

This part of the programme operates through referral and assessment, with very limited spaces available, and the next intake is planned for September. If you, or someone you know, could benefit from the programme and would like to find out more, please get in touch with our team - 01422 416519

And if you'd like to support our work, don't forget to visit our Charity Shop, make a donation, or donate your pre-loved items to us. We welcome everything from clothing, furniture and white goods to toys, books and household items. Every purchase and donation helps us continue providing opportunities and support for people in recovery across our community.

Got a good eye? We need it.

Every week, donations come through our doors — and hidden amongst them are pieces with real value. A vintage collection, a Wedgwood plate, a rare antique, an unusual item, or a designer label.

We're looking for a Donations Specialist to volunteer 1–2 days a week, working alongside our retail and online sales teams to identify items worth a second look — whether that's vintage items, games, antiques, toys, jewellery, stamps, ceramics, or anything in between.

Your knowledge could help maximise the value of donations and directly support the work we do changing lives in Elland.

You'll fit right in if you:

• Have a knack for spotting value — through eBay, jumble sales, auctions, car boot sales, or rummaging in charity shops.
• Have expert knowledge in areas such as pottery, art, cameras, gaming, stamps, collectables, or antiques.
• Enjoy sharing what you know with a friendly team.
• Like the idea of spending time in a characterful mill with good coffee and good company.

If you're interested, we'd love to hear from you. Get in touch to find out more by calling 01422 485200, sending us a message, or popping into Bridgefield Mills for a chat.
