From Tiny Seeds to a Watermelon Harvest!

Back on 16th May, we planted our watermelon seeds at Grassroots. At the time, they were just tiny seeds in little pots and look at them now.
With plenty of care watering and patience, our members have watched them grow from seedlings into healthy watermelon plants and we’re now enjoying the amazing results of all that hard work. 🍉
It’s been fantastic watching the whole journey from planting the seeds to harvesting our very own watermelons.

A huge well done to everyone at Grassroots who helped make it happen 💚

Look what we’ve grown at Grassroots! 🌽

There’s nothing better than seeing all the hard work in our garden pay off! Our service users have been busy growing, caring for and harvesting our sweetcorn and look at the fantastic crop we’ve got!

From planting the seeds to watching them grow and finally picking the corn, it’s been brilliant to see everyone getting involved and enjoying the rewards of our garden.

A big well done to everyone who helped make our harvest such a success!

Fresh from Grassroots

Our service users have been busy harvesting some of the delicious cucumbers and tomatoes they've grown. From planting the seeds to caring for them every step of the way, it's wonderful to see all their hard work paying off.

We're so proud of what they've achieved, and the fresh produce looks amazing! 💚

Giving Back to Our Community 💚

Today, our amazing Grassroots members delivered all of the fresh vegetables we harvested yesterday to The Village Centre Community Fridge.

Our potatoes, carrots, beetroot and spring onions will now help provide fresh, healthy produce to people in our local community who need it most.

We are incredibly proud of everything our members have achieved from planting and caring for the crops to harvesting them and giving back to others. It's a wonderful example of teamwork, kindness and community spirit.

A huge well done to everyone involved, and thank you to The Village Centre Community Fridge for helping us share our harvest where it can make a real difference. 💚

☀️ Hot Weather Reminder ☀️
With the warmer weather returning, can we please ask all carers, parents and members to come prepared for the heat.
Please ensure appropriate clothing is worn, sun cream is applied, hats are brought where appropriate, and everyone has plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Today we wished Chloe all the best as she starts her maternity leave and prepares for the arrival of her little one.
Thank you for everything you’ve brought to the team, Chloe. We’ll miss your smile and positivity around the workplace, but we’re so excited for you and this new adventure ahead.
