Carers Week 2026 – Building Carer Friendly Communities 💚

This Carers Week (8th -14th June), we’re recognising the incredible role unpaid carers play in our communities and the importance of having trusted support around them. At One Community, our Day Activity Centres offer a warm, welcoming environment for older people with varying levels of care needs, including those living with dementia or Alzheimer’s.

For carers, that means valuable respite and reassurance that their loved one is safe, supported, and enjoying a day filled with companionship and meaningful activity. Our centres provide enjoyable, stimulating and therapeutic activities, person-centred care, reminiscence activities, and transport on request with an es**rt to support clients on their journey.

All staff are trained and DBS verified, and places may be available through funded contracts or private payment.

One Community are looking for friendly and enthusiastic individuals to volunteer at their Day Service for Older Adults.

Volunteers would support the team with task such as:
💚Deliver personalised and stimulating day service activities
💚Accompany and offer support to clients when moving around
💚Assist with creative activities
💚Prepare refreshments
💚Help to maintain a safe and welcoming environment

Volunteer Opportunity: Make a Real Difference in Your Community 🌟

Are you looking for a meaningful way to give back? One Community is currently recruiting Lifeline Installer Volunteers to help support vulnerable residents across the Eastleigh borough.

As a Lifeline Installer Volunteer, you would;
Install and remove emergency lifeline equipment in people’s homes
Carry out simple maintenance (e.g. changing batteries and pendants)
Provide a friendly, reassuring presence for clients

📍 Where: Across Eastleigh, with the option to stay local to your preferred area
📅 When: Weekday mornings and afternoons (flexible scheduling)
✅ What’s provided:
Full training will be given
Volunteer expenses can be reimbursed.

Our Lifeline Emergency Panic Alarm service offers reassurance for you and peace of mind for your loved ones. At the touch of a button, users can quickly connect to our dedicated Control Centre whenever support is needed.

Designed to help people live confidently at home, Lifeline is ideal for anyone who may be at risk of falls or who is managing a long-term condition such as epilepsy or Parkinson’s.

The alarm can be worn as either a pendant or wristband, making it simple and convenient to use. We also offer optional extras, including automatic fall detectors and key safes, for added reassurance.
