What an excellent trip we had today to the Longstock Water Gardens on the Leckford Estate. The gardens were beautiful with the trees just starting to change colour. It was lovely to spot dragonflies, bumble bees, hummingbird hawk moths and peacock butterflies amongst the flowers. Then after a walk round the gardens we moved up the hill to the farm shop and cafe where a lovely lunch was had by all. 🐝🦋🪷🦆🌳

We were having such a lovely time on our outing to Wimborne that we forgot to take many pictures! But I’m pleased to report 11 intrepid souls went out and 11 returned.

Well done to Terry for being the highest scorer at yesterday’s kurling. If you fancy having a go yourself why not pop along to Age Concern on a Thursday morning at 10 and give it a go. They are a lovely bunch and you are sure to get a warm welcome.

What a fabulous afternoon we had at our AGM today. Despite the sweltering heat it was standing room only. Thank you to the Mayor of Eastleigh, Cllr Richard Gomer for officiating so expertly. We were also delighted to welcome back to ACE past Mayor Janice Asman. The afternoon consisted of a wonderful cream tea, a very informative, if slightly scary, talk on keeping yourself safe from scams from Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary, a poetry recital, an artwork display and prizes galore in our raffle. Thank you to all the members who helped to make it such a special occasion. We would also like to thank Alston House Care Home for their generous gift for our raffle. Eastleigh Borough Council

What a fabulous afternoon we’ve had: eating the most delicious scones thanks to the superb chef at Alston House Care Home; whilst listening to Americana music in the loveliest of company.
