📚 The 5th of March 2026 is World Book Day — and YOU can help change a child's life!
📚 Right now, millions of children in Nigeria are missing out on education simply because of poverty and no one has paid their school fees. UCEP is working to change that for as many children as possible through its “From Streets to Schools” programme.
📚 We get out-of-school children back into classrooms, put books in their hands, and walk alongside them with mentoring and safeguarding support every step of the way.
📚 But we can't do it without you.
📚 Throughout this week and on this World Book Day, we're asking you to do one simple, powerful thing: share the attached leaflet. Post it. Forward it. WhatsApp it. Every person who sees it is someone who might donate, volunteer, or simply believe — as we do — that every child deserves the chance to read, learn, and dream.

Today, we celebrate International Education Day! At UCEP, we believe that education is more than just sitting in a classroom—it’s about empowerment, opportunity, and hope.

We are dedicated to building a generation of children who have the tools to change their world. But we can’t do it alone. Your support helps us provide the "gift of hope" to children who need it most

As this year draws to a close, I find myself reflecting with immense gratitude on everything we have achieved together — and on the extraordinary people who made it possible. That reflection always leads me to you.

Your dedication, generosity of time, and unwavering belief in our mission have been the heartbeat of UCEP throughout the year. Whether you were visible on the front lines or working quietly behind the scenes, your commitment never wavered.

Because of you, little lives have been touched, hope has been restored, and our communities of scholarship recipients are stronger than they were at the start of the year. What we do as an organisation is only possible because of what you give so freely: your energy, your kindness, and your belief that together we can make a difference.
On behalf of everyone we serve, I thank you. Thank you for trusting our vision and for being such a vital part of our journey.

As we move through the festive season, I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas, filled with warmth, peace, and joy, and a New Year ahead that brings good health and happiness.

I am deeply proud to walk this path with you, and I look forward to everything we will continue to achieve together in the year ahead.
With heartfelt thanks and warmest wishes.

Charles

This September, 14 children will walk into classrooms in Umuoru Village, starting a new chapter as UCEP Scholars.

Every one of them has faced hardship, but their determination—and your support—has opened the door to education, a sense of safety, and hope.
They’ll be guided by our dedicated field coordinators and welcomed into a growing community of learners.

Drop a comment with your good wishes, and we’ll share them with the children through our UCEP team in Umuoru Village. 📚✨

One year ago today, we at UCEP pause to honor the life and legacy of the iconic Onyeka Onwenu. Her powerful voice and remarkable contributions to the arts continue to inspire generations.

Beyond her celebrated career, we will forever treasure her unwavering commitment to our cause: Onyeka was more than a patron she was a beacon of hope for so many.
The heartfelt song she composed for us remains a living testament to her compassion and boundless love for humanity. Though a year has passed, her absence still leaves a void that can never be filled.

Rest in peace, Onyeka, you are gone but never forgotten.
