Handcrafted Connecting with the most excluded people in society to offer them opportunities that can empower them to turn their own lives around

Handcrafted works alongside disadvantaged people in County Durham who long to turn their lives around, but need opportunities, mentoring
and practical help. We work with people who have multiple and complex needs,
including homelessness, mental health, offending and drug, alcohol & substance abuse. We involve them in meaningful and empowering training and experience doing woodwork, landscape garde

ning and house renovation projects. Through this we teach
both practical and social skills. Trainees can then progress onto our Enterprise project to
set up their own business or start an apprenticeship.

A Handcrafted first 🐝💤💤

We’re really proud to have completed this commission for Bees & Refugees - a great organisation using beekeeping to connect communities, support biodiversity and create positive social impact.

These hives were made in our Durham workshop, creating meaningful work and something useful for the world beyond our doors.

A huge thank you to Bees & Refugees for choosing to buy from us. We love what you’re building, and we’re excited to see these hives land safely and get ready for their new occupiers. 🐝
