🌞 We're Hiring for Summer 2026! 🌞

🚨DEADLINE WEDNESDAY 24TH JUNE AT 10PM🚨

Do you enjoy working with young people and want to make a positive difference in your community this summer?

Durham Area Youth (DAY) is looking for additional team members to help support our exciting summer holiday activities running from 3rd–23rd August.

📢 We are recruiting:
✅ Youth Workers
✅ Support Youth Workers
📅 Summer holiday programme: 3rd–23rd August
⏰ Flexible hours between 10–22 hours per week

This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience, support local young people, and be part of a fun, dedicated team delivering activities throughout the summer.

Great job from our "ALEKK" group from Bournmoor on their The Key project! They have worked really hard planning, budgeting and preparing over the last few weeks for a trip to go bowling... they got a YES to £250 from the panel today!

We have also been decorating coasters to give to someone special.... our young people are super creative take a look at their designs below🫶!

Massive THANK YOU to Shadforth Parish Council for confirming funding to support one of our Youth Hub sessions at Sherburn Hill Community Hub over the summer.

We are soon to launch our summer program and open bookings, watch this space!

Sherburn Hill Youth clubs are cancelled this week.

But we return as normal next week, with Juniors 4:30pm - 6pm & Seniors 6:30pm - 8pm.

Need transport to the celebration event?Young people aged 12+ can travel by bus from their village to and from the event...

Need transport to the celebration event?

Young people aged 12+ can travel by bus from their village to and from the event with parent/carer permission.

Parents without access to a car can also use the funded transport so the whole family can attend. Younger or older siblings who don't attend DAY are also welcome to join in the fun!

We are at 39% towards our target of raising £1000 from our families and young people taking part in Clarty Bairns!

If you have confirmed you are taking part it's time to set up your own page to fundraise from your social media pages. You can also collect offline via the paper form and cash collections.

If you haven't yet brought in your regsitration form, don't worry, there is still time to bring it in to sessions this week and next!
