🐻💚 What an ACTION-PACKED day for our Beavers! 💚🐻

Yesterday, our Beavers had an absolute blast at our district facility at 1st Burnmoor Scouts site!

From exploring the caving system to reaching new heights with climbing, testing their teamwork with crate stacking, and trying their hand at archery and tomahawks… there was never a dull moment!

And that’s not all… every single Beaver also completed their Experiment Activity Badge! What a fantastic achievement! 👏

A huge well done to all our Beavers for giving everything a go, challenging themselves and having so much fun along the way. We’re so proud of you!

🌟 COME AND JOIN THE ADVENTURE! 🌟

Our Beaver Colony has spaces available for young people aged 5¾ to 8 years old!

Scouting is all about trying new things, making friends, building confidence and having adventures along the way.

☀️ The summer holidays might be here, but the Scouting never stops! 🏕️

While our young people are enjoying a well-earned break, our leaders are already busy behind the scenes planning an exciting few months ahead! 🙌

Here’s just a little taste of what we’ve got in the pipeline:

🦫 Autumn Camp for our Beavers
🐾 Winter Camp for our Cubs
🏕️ Confido for our Scouts — and we already have LOADS of Scouts signed up! 🎉
🎄 Christmas event for Beavers & Cubs at Moorhouse
🎁 A special Christmas treat for ALL our sections
🐿️ And, most excitingly… the launch of our BRAND NEW Squirrels section for 4-6 year olds! 🐿️❤️

And that’s all alongside planning our regular weekly meetings, activities and adventures!

We’re really looking forward to getting everyone back together in September and seeing what the next Scouting year brings. ❤️

Our waiting list is ALWAYS open for new members! If you’ve got a child who would love to join the adventure, get in touch and get their name on the list. 🌳⚜️

Our Scouts earned themselves a play at the park last night after a successful "chip hike". Full tummies and tired legs all round!

Our last meeting before the Easter break saw the Beavers and Cubs do some lovely Easter crafts and play games. Scouts were able to get outside now the nights are lighter and played laser tag...sadly no photos from that. We will return Thursday 23rd April (St George's Day!), and are looking forward to a day at Beamish Museum a few days later!

We had a fantastic time at our winter camp at 1st Burnmoor Scouts site. All sections experienced a variety of activities, including archery, climbing, caving, crate stacking, axe throwing and catapults, with a lot of games and crafts in between - including our Scouts running a "Newfield's Got Talent" competition.

As always, we had a campfire and songs for all sections, too, which they all loved.

We are always open to new members - get in touch if you're interested.

Well done to the Scouts last weekend, who completed the patrol leader- leadership camp!

When Shrove Tuesday and Chinese New Year fall in the same week, what can you do but learn about and celebrate both!

This week, our Cubs made Chinese lanterns and pancakes. What a busy night!

Our Cubs have been working towards their Personal Safety Badge.
They've learned about the dangers of being near a Railway Line and designed a poster about Road Safety.

Last Thursday our Scouts learned some origami - boats, hats and jumping frogs! We then challenged them to race their frogs, and - Scouts being Scouts - they decided to challenge themselves further by racing their frogs whilst also having to keep their paper hats on their heads.
