Come along for tea, coffee, cakes, and a chance to support local young people.

On Mothers Day, we are celebrating all the incredible mother‑figures who support, guide and cheer on young people every day.

To the mums, grandmas, aunts, sisters, step‑mums, foster mums and anyone who’s ever offered care and encouragement — thank you. Your strength and kindness make such a difference.

Scout Hut update - Week 2

The team from New College Durham are working tirelessly and the results are starting to show.

This week, Iain and his band of students, made significant strides, including the first coat of the Red paint (Squirrels wall) and smoothing and patching surfaces in preparation for final touches.

Its incredibly heart warming, to see the hard work and dedication of the students pay off under the excellent tutelage of Iain.

Look out for more updates over the coming weeks.

On Founders Day, we say reflect on the kindness and generosity of our Volunteers. We also say Thank you.

Thank you to all our wonderful volunteers - you are the glue that holds everything together. Nothing would happen without you.

Thank you to our Young Leaders - you help be role models for our younger sections and are much needed aide for leaders.

Thank you to the parent helpers who step in to ensure that the children in the group can access the fun that leaders have planned.

Lastly thank you to our members who turn up each week and work to the best of their ability.

Look at whats happening at the Scout Hut. We’ll keep you posted with more updates as they come.

Last weekend saw the Durham Scouts Awards day.

We are so, so, so proud of all the young people who received their awards – they have worked really hard and been committed to achieving the award. It was fantastic to see them all receiving the recognition that they so rightly deserve.

Every single person in the group should feel proud of their achievements whether they were collecting an award or not. Turning up each week, having fun and being there for your friends when they need you. Each week working on teamwork, skills and confidence.

This is all supported by a team of wonderful volunteers, who give up their time each week to bring inspiration, a welcoming environment and opportunities to grow. Thank you for all your hard work, it’s really appreciated.

We even had Leaders collect Awards (Kings Scout Award and D of E Gold). Well done to Matthew and Aiden.

Want to volunteer? Come along and try our 4 wk challenge – Scouting is not just about the young people, its also about the volunteers, the family and the fun. There are opportunities across all sections: Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.

Seize the day, and make today the start of your volunteering journey with Scouts.

Today is Awards Day at Durham Scouts - its our first time with all 5 sections attending (Squirrels through to Explorers).

We are of all of our young people - and love celebrating their hard work and achievements.

So please welcome our Acorn, Bronze and Silver Chief Scout Awards - I think you will agree that they are well deserving of a pat on the back.

Obviously not leaving out our Scouts and Explorers who are receiving their Chief Scout Gold, Plantinum, D of E Gold and Kings Scout Award, as we speak.

So many achievements, so many wonderful young people.
